In recent years, study tours have emerged as a popular educational and tourism model in China, driven by rapid economic and social development. However, the growth of study tours has been accompanied by various challenges, including poor planning, difficulty balancing learning and recreation, organizational and management issues, funding problems, inadequate evaluation and monitoring mechanisms, low professionalism, and insufficient infrastructure. To promote the healthy development of study tours, this study employs evolutionary game theory to analyze the interactions among four key stakeholders:schools, service providers, education departments, and cultural tourism departments.By collecting and analyzing stakeholder data,we construct an evolutionary game model and assess the stability of each game subject’s strategy.Numerical simulations reveal that factors such as the cost of supervision by the education department, the degree of specialization of school authorities, and the reward and punishment mechanism significantly impact the study tour market. Our findings provide a theoretical basis and policy recommendations for fostering the healthy growth of study tours in China.Literature analysis,on-site surveys, and structured interviews were used to examine the current development status and challenges of study tours, both domestically and internationally. We also provide a detailed analysis of the objectives, development, and current state of study tours.Using this information,we establish a four-way evolutionary game model and evaluate the impact of parameter changes on the study tour industry. Our study explores key factors and dynamic mechanisms influencing the development of study tours by analyzing the stability of each game subject’s strategy, including schools, service providers, education departments, and cultural tourism departments. We also conduct stability analyses for strategy combinations of different game subjects and investigate the interaction and synergistic effects of all parties in the study tour market. The relationship between the cost of strict supervision by the education sector, the strength of supervision by the cultural and tourism sector, and the degree of specialization of school authorities is also assessed through numerical simulation analysis. The results indicate that effective regulation and incentives from the education sector are crucial for the high-quality development of study tours. The culture and tourism sector can support the regulatory feedback mechanism by encouraging schools to organize study tour programs and incentivizing service providers to offer high-quality products.Additionally, our findings emphasize the importance of promoting service providers’ product quality and increasing their revenues to achieve healthy development of study tours,as well as creating a supportive and favorable environment through effective regulation, while considering the interests of all stakeholders. We suggest that all parties actively explore the application of information technology in study tours, innovate educational concepts and teaching methods, and focus on improving students’ practical skills and overall quality.Establishing a win-win cooperation mechanism among stakeholders will provide comprehensive support for study tours. |
