At present, the sleep quality and academic stress of primary and secondary school students have been widely concerned and valued by the state and the whole society, and the state has also introduced relevant policies such as "sleep order","double reduction policy" and other measures to solve them.To explore the reasons and countermeasures that affect the sleep quality of middle school students has become a concern of many experts and scholars. In order to explore the impact of academic stress on sleep quality, this study started from the external environment "academic stress" that affects sleep quality, and introduced the coping style of stress "emotion regulation strategy" for discussion. The "middle school students’ academic stress questionnaire","emotion regulation strategy scale",and "Pittsburgh sleep quality scale" were used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 1100 middle school students in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to explore their academic stress The relationship between emotion regulation strategies and sleep quality can provide some reference for improving sleep quality of junior middle school students. The main research results are as follows:(1)The sleep quality of junior middle school students is significantly different in gender, grade, student cadres and student origin.Among them, the sleep quality of girls is worse than that of boys; The sleep quality of student cadres is worse than that of non student cadres; The sleep quality of students from urban areas is worse than that of students from rural areas; The sleep quality of ninth grade students is worse than that of seventh and eighth grade students, and the sleep quality of seventh grade students is the best.(2)The academic stress of junior high school students has a negative predictive effect on their sleep quality.(3)The cognitive reappraisal strategy of emotion regulation strategy can positively predict their sleep quality;Expression inhibition strategy can negatively predict sleep quality. In addition, inhibition of expression was positively correlated with academic stress; However, cognitive reappraisal strategies are negatively correlated with academic stress。(4)The academic stress of junior high school students has a negative predictive effect on their sleep quality. This study further confirmed the significant relationship between academic stress and sleep quality of junior high school students, and also provided a new way to improve sleep quality.
