Labor education is not only an important educational form of socialism with Chinese characteristics,but also a key educational content in the process of students’ growth.With the progress of the times and the continuous development of science and technology,our country and society have put forward higher requirements for personnel training.In recent years,the national level has put forward a series of discourses and documents on labor education,which clearly points out that geography is the dominant discipline that penetrates labor education,and requires labor education to be carried out in the daily teaching process.Labor is essentially a kind of practical activity,and its combination with geographical activities have great advantages.Therefore,on the one hand,this research provides theoretical support for the integration of geographical activities and labor education,and on the other hand provides empirical reference for the development of labor education in geographical disciplines.This paper investigates the current situation of senior high school students’ operative ability in geography and labor education by using the methods of literature research,questionnaire and case demonstration.It finds the current situation of the cultivation of senior high school students in the operative ability in geography,and summarizes the ideal state by using the analysis of senior high school geography curriculum standards.The study found that there are the following problems of senior high school students in the operative ability in geography and labor education:(1)In terms of the operative ability in geography,few students participate in geographical activities,and the vast majority of students have poor operative ability in geography;(2)In terms of labor education,most students have less participation in working,their willingness to work is not enough,and their understanding of labor education is insufficient;(3)In terms of the combination of geographical activities and labor education,few teachers have made attempts,and they have insufficient understanding of the integration relationship and the implementation methods between the two.Based on the problems above,this paper sorts out the internal relationship between the cultivation of the operative ability in geography and labor education,and concludes that the relationship between labor education and the development of geographical activities is as follows:(1)Increase wisdom by working,and apply the geographical knowledge flexibly by taking part in geographical activities;(2)Strengthen the body by working,improve the body and cultivate the personality in the process of geographical activities;(3)Cultivate aesthetics by working,and appreciate the achievements of own and others in geographical activities;(4)Establish morality by working,and cultivate the character of respecting and loving labor in the process of geographical activities;(5)Innovate by working,have the courage to try in geographical activities,and inspire the inspiration.On this basis,by carrying out the activities of campus geographical planting,this paper makes an empirical attempt from theory to practice from the design,implementation and evaluation of the activities.It also puts forward the development strategies of geographical activities to integrate labor education,which are as follows:(1)To change ideas and clarify the importance of the combination of labor education and geographical practice;(2)To find the combination point and analyze the curriculum standard,teaching materials and learning situation;(3)To innovate the form and break through the traditional activity course setting;(4)To focus on the attainment and reasonably design the scheme of activities;(5)To train teachers and enhance the intelligent support of activities;(6)To pay attention to the inside and outside of school and mobilize the resources of all sectors of society;(7)To improve the system and the guarantee of activities.The results of this research show that by carrying out geographical activities that integrate labor education,Students improve their operative ability in geography while their working skills,working habits,and labor morals have also made significant progress.Students’ willingness to participate in geographical activities and labor has been significantly improved.
