| In recent years, the problem solving ability and creative thinking training of primary and secondary school students have been concerned by the education circles at home and abroad. In April 2022,China’s "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)" was officially promulgated, which clearly proposed to take innovation awareness as one of the core qualities in primary and junior high schools. Therefore, encouraging students to dare to explore open and unconventional problems, and cultivating students’ scientific attitude and rational spirit of independent thinking and daring to question are the hot spots that should be paid attention to in the current education circle.However.in the actual teaching.the open question has not given full play to its maximum value, the teaching of it is still on the surface, and the creative thinking of students in solving the open question has not been deeply studied. Therefore, this study mainly focuses on the development of students’ creative thinking in the process of solving open math problems, including the development of fluency, flexibility and originality, whether there are differences in the development of creative thinking between students of different genders, and whether there are differences in the development of creative thinking between students of different academic levels.Based on the above research questions, this study selected a total of 118 students from three classes of eighth grade of Z Middle School in Suzhou as research objects. This study adopts four research methods, namely testing method, interview method, case analysis method and literature method.Through quantitative and qualitative research methods, this study investigates and analyzes the creative thinking performance of eighth grade students in solving open math problems. The results show that most students can come up with a variety of answers and show good fluency, but lack originality in problem-solving strategies and methods. There was no significant difference in creative thinking between male and female students on the test; There are obvious differences in the creative thinking performance of students with different academic levels in geometric mathematics open questions, but there is no obvious difference in the creative thinking performance in algebra open questions. Finally,on the basis of the investigation and research, combined with the interview results, the researcher puts forward relevant teaching suggestions, deeply reflects on the shortcomings of this study, and puts forward strong expectations for future research. |
