With the deepening of geography curriculum reform,the teaching of geography practical activities has received more and more attention in the field of geography education.However,under the attempted practice in China,its teaching effectiveness is not satisfactory.Deep learning contains four learning attributes: goal,way,process,and result,which are challenging for the development of practical geography teaching,but at the same time,they are also the goals pursued by practical teaching,and the concept of deep learning has certain guiding significance for the design of practical activities.In view of this,the study will start from the following four key questions,"Why deep learning can guide the teaching design of geography practical activities","What is the current situation of geography practical activity design guided by deep learning","How deep learning How does deep learning guide the design of geography practical activities" and "How effective is the design of geography practical activities guided by deep learning".On the basis of the analysis of the current situation of related researches at home and abroad,we explain the guidance value of deep learning to the design of geography practical activities,investigate and analyze the current situation of geography practical activity design guided by deep learning,find out the problems,propose the ideas of optimizing geography practical activity design,and analyze the optimization effect.The research is carried out in the following four aspects.Clarify deep learning theories and their guiding role in the design of practice activities.Based on the existing theoretical results,we clarify the deep learning theory by collating,summarizing,and studying existing studies,including: deep learning characteristics,principles,and deep core teaching concepts.And summarize the guiding significance of deep learning theory on practical teaching,mainly: promoting students’ deep engagement and participation;emphasizing the practical nature of students’ learning;stimulating students’ higher-order thinking and deepening their understanding of geography knowledge.Analysis of the current situation of the design of practical activities in high school geography under the orientation of deep learning.The study analyzes the teaching design of high school geography practical activities with the method of work analysis and questionnaire,and presents the current situation and problems of its design in terms of practical objectives,contents,methods and evaluation.The main results are as follows: the importance of practical teaching should be improved;the independent design ability is weak;the objective of practical activities is single;the cooperative inquiry tends to be formalized;the transfer application link is weakened;and the evaluation of practical activities is not paid attention to.The design strategies and ideas of geography practical activities under deep learning orientation are proposed.On the basis of Study 2,the design strategies and design ideas of geography practical teaching were constructed from two aspects,macro and micro,based on deep learning theory.The results of the study are as follows: the design strategies of geography practical activity teaching under the orientation of deep learning at the macro level:determine the deep learning objectives around geography core literacy;dig deep into the core content of practice to promote high-level cognitive processing;pay attention to the design of learning activities to promote high student engagement;focus on the connection between old and new knowledge to promote deep understanding transfer;pay attention to the evaluation of process performance to promote students’ diversified development.At the micro level,the geography practical activity teaching design ideas pointing to deep learning are formed,including: making adequate preparation,clarifying deep learning objectives,selecting real and complex practical situations,building problem chains based on the situations,solving problems through cooperative inquiry,visualizing logical knowledge structures,transferring and applying learning outcomes,and combining performance evaluation with summative evaluation,which provide geography teachers with directions in specific geography practical activity teaching design.To explore the effectiveness of teaching geography practical activities based on in-depth learning guidance.Based on Study 3,we designed and implemented the "Longji tea industry development" survey and investigation activities.The study found that: in the learning process,the geography practice activities guided by deep learning promoted students’ deep participation;formed a "student-oriented" teaching activity;in the learning outcome,the geography practice teaching guided by deep learning promoted students’ deep learning,and students’ ability of cooperation,effective communication and Students’ ability to cooperate,communicate and express themselves effectively,and learn independently has been significantly improved;students have a deeper understanding of textbook knowledge and can transfer and apply their knowledge,which improves the quality of learning.
