| The International Charter of Geographical Education in 1992 and 2016 proposed that geographic education should equip students with the skills to express geographic information using maps and encourage students to use geospatial technology as a medium in the process of exploring geographic issues to collect, organize, analyze geographic information, and solve geographic problems. The "Education Informatization 2.0 Action Plan" points out that it is necessary to change from improving the application of information technology for teachers and students to comprehensively improving their information literacy and explore a new model of education in the information age.It can be seen that: the use of digital maps to cultivate high school students’ geographic information literacy is not only the need to adapt to the development of the modern information society, but also the need for innovative geography classroom teaching methods under the background of the new curriculum reform. This paper is based on domestic and foreign research and based on the theory of constructivism,John Dewey’s "learning by doing" theory, and the theory of harmonious personality development. This paper expounds the necessity and feasibility of digital maps in cultivating high school students’ geographic information literacy through literature research, text analysis, case analysis, and questionnaire surveys, and proposes an implementation plan for digital maps to cultivate high school students’ geographic information literacy. Finally, relevant evidence is carried out.The study found that digital maps have unique functions in the cultivation of high school students’ geographic information literacy:(1)The smooth connection between digital maps and the Internet can enhance students’ ability to collect geographic information;(2)The various data types of digital maps can enhance students’ ability to organize geographic information;(3)The editing and drawing function of digital map can enhance students’ ability to express geographic information;(4)The vivid and intuitive expression of digital map can enhance students’ ability to analyze geographic information. However, there are various digital map platforms. In order to better help geography teachers and students use the digital map platform and improve the feasibility of this study, this paper divides the digital map platform into two categories according to the level of its use:(1)Browsing and querying Digital map platform;(2)Hand-drawn digital map platform. It also introduces case studies on the use of different digital map platforms. In order to improve the application effect of digital map platform in cultivating high school students’ geographic information literacy, and gradually cultivate high school students’ geographic information literacy, this paper proposes three levels of digital map in the cultivation of high school students’ geographic information literacy: perception, exploration and creation level.Five implementation principles:(1)Based on the high school geography curriculum standard, clarify the direction of geographic information literacy training;(2)Based on high school geography textbooks, explore the feasibility of geographic information literacy training;(3)Based on the map management regulations to improve the scientific nature of the use of digital map platforms;(4)Guided by students’ self-exploration,highlight the subjectivity of geographic information literacy training;(5)Take the three levels as a reference to ensure the orderliness of geographic information literacy training. And the specific and operable implementation paths:(1)Determine the teaching theme(analysis of curriculum standards, textbooks and students’ learning situation, matching the digital map platform);(2)Carry out teaching preparation(the preparation for the operation of the digital map platform, the design preparation of the classroom teaching content);(3)Organizing teaching activities(create situations, ask questions, explore digital map platforms, solve problems, communicate and display). Finally,in order to verify the effect of the implementation plan, this paper has carried out a demonstration of the high school students’ geographic information literacy training plan at different levels and took the third level:Observing the geomorphology of the hometown "The " Outdoor Pearl " on the Tropic of Cancer-Daming Mountain" as an example conducted a lesson demonstration study,in order to provide a reference for more teaching research on using digital maps to cultivate high school students’ geographic information literacy. |
