Understanding by Design(UbD)model is an instructional design model that pursues understanding.The teaching design of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school based on UbD model refers to that teachers design the teaching content of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school by referring to the concept,method and operation link of UbD model.This new instructional design organically combines the UbD model with the subject of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school,conforms to the idea of new curriculum standards,conforms to the inevitable trend of new curriculum reform,and helps to innovate the instructional design of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school,improve the classroom teaching efficiency,improve the teaching concept of teacher education,enhance the teaching design ability of teachers,and cultivate the core quality of students.It is of great significance to promote students’ deep understanding of knowledge.In order to deeply understand the teaching design of Morality and Rule of Law teachers in junior high school and the current situation of students’ curriculum learning,interviews and questionnaires were used to conduct research.The results show that there are many problems in the current Morality and Rule of Law classroom teaching in junior high school,such as fuzzy teaching objectives,lack of teaching evaluation,single teaching methods,and insufficient depth of students’ understanding and application of knowledge.It is urgent to introduce a new teaching design model to solve it.Then,taking Respect for Others,the first volume of Morality and Rule of Law in Grade 8 of Bucompiled(2016)Junior high School as an example,the teaching design based on UbD model is carried out and applied into practical teaching.In combination with the interview of teachers attending the class,it is found that:The teaching design of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school based on UbD model has strong operability and feasibility,which can effectively improve the teaching efficiency of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school,and better cultivate students’ core quality of subject.For the sake of further improve the teaching design of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school based on UbD model and promote the smooth application of UbD model in the curriculum of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school,this paper puts forward corresponding optimization strategies from five aspects:following the basic principles,improving the support system,strengthening the connection with the new curriculum standard,building a multiple evaluation system and pursuing deep learning.They strengthen the deep integration of UbD model and junior high school Morality and Rule of Law curriculum,improve students’ understanding of knowledge,and give full play to the educational value of junior high school Morality and Rule of Law curriculum.
