Research On The Dilemma And Solution Path Of Urban Mutual Aid Elderly Care From The Perspective Of Social Exchange Theory

For a long time in China,under the influence of the "family centered" ideology and culture,the elderly have been more inclined towards the traditional home based elderly care model.However,with the cross regional mobility of young people,the traditional home-based elderly care model lacks human security and resource support,and cannot meet the growing elderly care needs.The mutual assistance elderly care service model is a new type of elderly care model that combines home care,community care,and institutional care in the context of aging.At present,the mutual assistance elderly care model is mostly carried out in rural areas with close blood ties.Due to the large population mobility in urban areas,there are certain difficulties in carrying out the mutual assistance elderly care model.This article adopts a case study method,selecting M Street as the research sample and using social exchange theory as the research perspective.Through on-site research and extensive collection of interview data,it conducts in-depth research on the mutual assistance and elderly care situation in M Street.The residents in M Street are mostly middle-aged and elderly people,and there are also many elderly people over the age of 90.The living facilities and related elderly activity venues in the street are fully equipped.The author observes and analyzes the existing mutual aid behavior and the current situation of mutual aid elderly care in M Street,and proposes that there are certain difficulties in the current mutual aid elderly care service model between the motivation mechanism,reward incentive,and organizational system.Starting from the perspective of social workers,corresponding solutions are proposed from three aspects:the elderly themselves,the street community,and social organizations.This article believes that the mutual assistance elderly care model has the feasibility of implementation in urban communities,and social workers can help promote the development of the mutual assistance elderly care model by playing a professional role.Consolidate the driving mechanism for mutual assistance in elderly care by changing the elderly’s concept of elderly care and establishing a trust foundation between them;By linking external security resources and exploring internal resources of the elderly,we can enhance mutual assistance and pension compensation incentives;By clarifying the division of mutual assistance elderly care responsibilities and cultivating diverse organizational forces to establish an organizational mechanism for mutual assistance elderly care,a replicable practical path for urban mutual assistance elderly care models is explored to ensure the long-term development of urban mutual assistance elderly care models and enhance the resilience of mutual assistance elderly care.
