Since the reform and opening up,higher education has developed rapidly in China.In2019,the enrollment rate has reached 50.6% for higher education in China,which has entered the popularization stage.At the same time,China’s private higher vocational colleges have also developed by leaps and bounds,becoming an important part of China’s higher education institutions,training a large number of technical talents for national construction.Due to the late development of private higher vocational colleges,the difficulty of recruiting students has also attracted much attention.Therefore,how to find enough and high-quality students has become a new issue for private higher vocational colleges to be solved urgently.Taking 5 private higher vocational colleges in Nanjing as an example,this study uses questionnaire survey,interview research and literature research to explore the main problems and reasons for the enrollment of private higher vocational colleges,and summarizes the successful enrollment experience of some private higher vocational colleges in China,and discusses the high-quality student source path for private higher vocational colleges.This study consists of six parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds the background,significance,methods and techniques of the thesis,and summarizes the related research status at home and abroad.The second part defines and explains the two concepts of private higher vocational colleges and enrollment policies,introduces and analyzes the theoretical basis of this thesis: marketing theory,cooperative game theory,education equity theory and synergy theory.The third part investigates and analyzes the enrollment of private higher vocational colleges in Nanjing.The fourth part analyzes the main problems and reasons for the enrollment of private higher vocational colleges.The fifth part offers the typical experience and enlightenment of the enrollment of some private higher vocational colleges in China.The sixth part puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to solve the difficult enrollment problem in private higher vocational colleges.There are certain difficulties in the enrollment of private higher vocational colleges in China,which are manifested as: insufficient number of students and declining quality.It includes social prejudice,the lack of obvious characteristics of private higher vocational schools,and the need to improve teaching quality of schools.These difficulties are essential in the development of private higher vocational colleges,so how to find effective solutions to the above problems is an important task for private higher vocational colleges.With the popularization of higher education,private higher vocational colleges need to fully understand the long-term and arduous task of classified management for private education.Under the favorable policies of China’s vigorous development of higher vocational education,private higher vocational colleges must continue to explore paths and adapt to school-running ideas for new groups,adhere to teaching and educating people,give priority to skills,undertake the great mission for making progress under the times,and make use of their own advantages,make breakthroughs in system and mechanism reform,high-level professional construction,education and teaching reform,improving basic capabilities,improving governance levels,improving social service capabilities,so that difficult enrollment problem will be fundamentally solved.
