Research On The Coordinated Development Of Population Urbanization And Land Urbanization In Megacities

At the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,China’s urbanization was in low level,and the urbanization growth rate was still in low level.After the reform and opening-up,the new system had promoted the rapid development of China’s economy,and the urbanization process had also accelerated.At the same time,the population composition and land structure had also undergone tremendous changes.In the early stage of urbanization,the problem of emphasizing land over people and speed over quality often occurred.In order to realize the healthy and sustainable development of China’s urbanization,the "new urbanization" strategy with Chinese characteristics emerged at the historic moment.New-type urbanization is the people-centered urbanization,emphasizing people-oriented,focusing on the integration of urban and rural areas,economical and intensive,and harmonious development as the basic characteristics of urbanization.Among them,people and land are the basis of urbanization,and the relative relationship between their development is an important topic for the study of urbanization.The coordinated development of population and land is an important guarantee for promoting the healthy and stable urbanization.At the same time,Chengdu,as a mega city integrating political,economic and cultural functions in the western region,has developed rapidly in recent years,but it is different from other mega cities with good location,policies and economic development foundation.Therefore,exploring the relationship between population urbanization and land urbanization for Chengdu is helpful to achieve the sustainable urbanization development.On the basis of sorting out the researches related to population urbanization and land urbanization,combining the point-axis development theory,population migration theory and regional equilibrium theory,this study clarified the connotation of population urbanization and land urbanization,and explained population urbanization from the three aspects of population,society and economy.Land urbanization was defined by three aspects of city size,input level and output level,and an evaluation index system of population urbanization and land urbanization of "two categories and three levels" was constructed to evaluate the comprehensive level of population urbanization and land urbanization of each district and county in Chengdu from 2012 to 2019.At the same time,the coupling coordination degree model was established to analyze the coupling coordination level of the two.Finally,the key factors influencing the coupling coordination level of population urbanization and land urbanization at different stages were explored by using the grey relational degree model and the grey system theory.The following research results were obtained:(1)The results showed that population urbanization and land urbanization in Chengdu showed a steady upward trend from 2012 to 2019,and the land urbanization level in most districts and counties lagged behind population urbanization level.However,with the advancement of urbanization,except for the central urban area,the level gap between other districts and counties gradually increases,and the speed of population urbanization is significantly faster than the speed of land urbanization.The spatial pattern of population urbanization and land urbanization was obviously different.The level of population urbanization presented the development characteristic of "circle layer + axis zone",while the level of land urbanization presents the spatial characteristics of "circle layer decline".On the other hand,the adjustment of administrative divisions had a significant impact on the development of population urbanization and land urbanization.(2)The coupling degree and coupling coordination degree of population and land urbanization showed an upward trend from 2012 to 2019,and there were obvious stratification characteristics among districts and counties.First of all,in terms of coupling degree,population and land of each district and county had a strong interaction,the overall level of coupling degree was high,and there were regional differences.Secondly,the coupling coordination level of population and land varies greatly among districts and counties,and the growth trend was relatively slow,but the overall development tends to be coordinated.At the same time,it showed the development characteristic from "circle layer type" to "circle layer type + south high and north low" in space.Finally,the adjustment of administrative divisions had no influence on the coupling degree of population and land urbanization,but significantly enhanced the development level of coupling coordination degree of the two.(3)Both population and land had the effects on the coupling coordination level of Chengdu in each period.With the advancement of urbanization,the key factors affected the level of coupling coordination between the two gradually shift to population,and the social factors such as education,medical care and old-age care among population factors gradually became the key factors affecting the level of coupling coordination between the two.On this basis,combined with the regional characteristics of Chengdu,and put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions:(1)explore the way of land use,improve the efficiency of land intensive conservation;(2)Promote industrial transformation and upgrading and increase employment of urban population;(3)Improve the construction of public services and improve the level of social security facilities.
