With the development of informatization and internationalization,the disadvantages of the traditional “knowledge-based education”,which equates knowledge impart with education itself,have become increasingly prominent.It is no longer suitable for the requirements of the society for the development of talents’ ability.More and more countries are building the discipline system around "Key Competencies".In this context,how to improve the teaching quality of English subject is a problem that every English teacher,English training institutions and English learners need to consider and care about most.OECD,the United States,the European Union,they are all have emphasized the ability of communication,language,foreign language about the composition of “Key Competencies”.The “English Teaching Syllabus for Full-time Junior Middle School of Nine-year Compulsory Education(Trial Revised Version)”,The syllabus once pointed out that with the informationization of social life and the globalization of economic activities,the learning and mastering of a foreign language is playing an increasingly important role and has become one of the basic requirements of citizens in the 21 st century.English Curriculum Standards for General Senior High Schools in China(2017 Edition)summarizes the “Key Competencies”of English as four dimensions: language ability,cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability.Based on the above background,this paper has carried out the theoretical research and practical verification of English unit teaching in junior middle school based on literacy in the information age.First of all,this study consulted and analyzed the research results related to unit teaching at home and abroad,especially the unit teaching of English course,and summarized the research status of unit teaching of English course based on my own experience and experience.Relevant literatures were collected from CNKI academic journal database,and the overall situation of papers and highly cited literatures were analyzed.Cite Space was used for bibliometric analysis,and the research hotspots and directions widely concerned by scholars in English unit teaching were obtained through keyword co-occurrence network.The concepts and theoretical basis closely related to this study are analyzed and summarized.It is clear that English unit teaching can be combined with TPACK framework and ADDIE teaching design mode,based on constructivism learning theory,instructional design theory and TPACK,etc,focusing on the four-dimensional goal of English discipline“Key Competencies”this paper takes design research as the research paradigm.Secondly,according to ADDIE teaching design model,English course unit teaching is divided into "analysis,design,development,implementation,evaluation" five links.Analysis,combining with the teaching program,curriculum standards,textbooks,teaching environment and so on were investigated about the present situation of junior middle school English teaching,taking the second-grade students of a class in a middle school in Nanning as the research object,respectively,through questionnaire survey,we can understand teachers’ views on unit teaching,students’ enthusiasm for English and their feelings about unit teaching and the current situation of key Competencies of English subjects,To provide basic data and reference for improving English teaching unit.In the design process,we learned from excellent cases,explored teaching theories such as flipped classroom and blended learning,and designed the teaching process.In the development link,combining the current situation of the school and students,making full use of the textbook content and network resources,excavating the core quality elements of the discipline contained in the teaching content;Implementation link,the use of information technology,pay attention to students’ learning process,pay attention to students’ timely feedback on learning;In the evaluation part,the teaching effect of unit teaching design was tested by means of after-class quizzes and student interviews,and the effect was deeply analyzed to verify the validity and usability of the research results,so as to provide reference for future related research.Finally,combined with my own teaching practice,the advantages and disadvantages of English course unit teaching are summarized,and the possible direction for improvement in the future is proposed.
