Research On The Household Digital Feedback Behavior Of Smartphone Media Use For Elderly

With the increase of our population,the proportion of people aged sixty and above is increasing continuously,according to data from China’s seventh national census.According to the United Nations definition of population aging,China has entered a moderate aging society.During the COVID-19 pandemic,Internet technology has powered the functioning of society,playing an important role in everything from the health code of everyday life to the rise of online office.However,during the COVID-19 pandemic,the phenomenon of the elderly being denied access to buses because they could not display their health codes has sparked heated debate in society.In the information era,the survival and development of the elderly have become a hot topic.Based on the traditional Chinese family structure and the virtue of respecting the elderly,digital feedback development from cultural feedback helps the elderly to access and use digital technology,and supports the elderly to seek survival rights and development through digital technology.The household digital feedback behavior has become the most common phenomenon in the use of smart phone media for the elderly.As China’s urbanization continues to accelerate,the people-centered new urbanization strategy has also been included in the 14th Five-Year Development plan.In the context of this policy,more and more people bid farewall to their native land and resettle in a small town around cities,preparing to become a group of “new urban residents”.People who living in the junction of urban and rural areas hide the memory of the old countryside,with the beautiful vision of the city,and began to chase the rhythm of urban development.The head-on digital technology has become the first threshold to integrate into the development.Similarly,digital technology is a challenge for the elderly living in urban areas.Based on a questionnaire survey of young people in N Town of Hefei city and semi-structured interviews with 18 elderly people,this paper collects and analyzes the questionnaire results and interviews,then describes the household digital feedback behavior path chart of elderly people accepting the use of smartphone media.Meanwhile,there are three factors that affect the household digital feedback behavior path,namely use demand,individual factors and peer influence.After the recording of the interview was transferred to the text,the influencing factors of household digital feedback behavior of smartphone media use in the elderly group were further analyzed through the specific research method of three-level coding based on grounded theory,namely,technological environment,media characteristic and intergenerational support.Based on the influencing factors of digital feedback of smartphone media use by the elderly,the following points are worthy of attention:First,appropriate digital feedback content should be selected for the elderly group.Second,in the process of digital feedback,the feedback nurse assumes the role of “gatekeeper”.Third,it is necessary to balance the relationship between offspring’s agency behavior and digital feedback.Taking into account the survival and development rights of the elderly,it is also necessary to build an information accessibility society.In additional to helping the elderly in technological development and social construction,more attention should be paid to their later life from the spiritual level,so as to promote the elderly to embark on the road of active aging.
