With the new round of curriculum reform,it is the only way for geography education to implement core literacy and to empower the use of knowledge.In the new era,it is necessary for teachers and students to cooperate with each other to cultivate students’ core quality in the teaching design of geography,and the implementation of local geography teaching can achieve this.Local geography is easy to cause resonance between teachers and students as a bridge connecting geography classroom and real life,which makes students feel “Learning is useful” in the process of learning local geography and “Use what I have learned” in the future,letting the new curriculum idea enter the student’s life and the development truly.There are many benefits in digging out the local material and using the local geographical resources familiar to students as the carrier of geography teaching.The first is to stimulate students’ initiative and enthusiasm in learning and enhance students’ affinity familiarity with what they have learned and the importance attached to the exploration of geography.Second,it is beneficial to consolidate resources,enrich teaching contents,change teaching methods,and achieve the effect of understanding knowledge and improving core literacy.Third,it is beneficial for teachers and students to feel the development and changes of their hometown,and to cultivate their social consciousness and national feelings by relying on local resources to imprint the soul with the culture of hometown.Fourth,it is beneficial to promote the construction of the school curriculum,make use of the existing educational resources and the advantages of local characteristics,broaden students’ learning space and actively promote the continuous development of geography teaching.This paper takes the First High School of Hefeng County as an example.It surveyed13 front-line geography teachers,and discussed the application of Hefeng County’s local geographic resources in the teaching of “the harmonious development of man-land relationship” through literature analysis,questionnaire survey,group interviews,to fully develop and reasonably use the local curriculum resources and seriously explore the methods and strategies to improve the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching and help the geography teaching reform in senior high school.Through the research,the following conclusions are obtained:(1)Along with the wave of the new curriculum reform,new curriculum standard and new college entrance examination,the teacher profoundly recognizes the important of guiding significance and teaching value embodied in the local geography,and thinks that it is a process of organic combination of theoretical knowledge and life practice,which can let the student feel the geography question inquiry process and the thought process more deeply,to develop the students’ interest in geography and cultivate the students’ core quality of geography and feelings of loving their hometown and promote the rapid development of local geography education.(2)Hefeng County is rich in resources and has a long history of culture.However,from the findings of the applied survey,it is difficult for teachers to make natural use of local geographical resources in teaching.The difficulties are mainly due to the limited channels and manpower for acquiring and applying local geographic resources.Due to the limited teaching environment and conditions,there has not been a rich local geography curriculum resource bank,and teachers are still used to traditional teaching methods in daily teaching,which makes it difficult to adapt to the new model teachers.And the teachers lack of thinking on the long-term development of local geography teaching,so they neglect the value of local geography resources to a certain extent.(3)When acquiring local geographical resources,we should follow the principles of choosing according to law,ensuring the quality and choosing according to the local conditions.We should go out of the classroom,into the society and into the nature by means of study tour,field investigation and visiting investigation,and learn to use the Internet to find geographic information conveniently,quickly and accurately,taking a modest attitude to ask more questions from others.(4)Under the guidance of the moderate,scientific and new curriculum reform principles,we can adopt some strategies to apply the local geography resources in the geography teaching of senior high school.For example,we should comb out the valuable local geography teaching resources,use it in a timely manner and use it when you need it.By means of the carrier of teaching research and practice,we can strengthen the teaching of local geography,to build a compound teacher and improve the teacher’s own education and teaching ability of local geography curriculum.Relying on the support of all parties,we can form a huge force to promote the development of local geography.
