After the victory in the battle against poverty,China has eliminated the problem of absolute poverty that has plagued China for thousands of years,but limited by our national conditions,the problem of absolute poverty has been eliminated but the problem of relative poverty still exists.The focus of China’s poverty alleviation work has shifted from absolute poverty to relative poverty,and from making up for material shortcomings to capacity and spiritual shortcomings.Education for poverty alleviation plays an important role in making up for the ability and spiritual shortcomings of the poor,which helps consolidate the results of poverty eradication and contributes to the development of rural revitalization.Taking the relatively poor rural population in Shanxi Province as the research object,this paper collects and collates relevant data on education poverty alleviation by consulting Shanxi Provincial Statistical Yearbook,China Rural Statistical Yearbook,China Statistical Yearbook as well as field visits and questionnaire surveys.Based on the data analysis to understand the current situation of rural education poverty alleviation in Shanxi Province,and the analysis of parents’ and students’ questionnaires through SPSS software,we found that there are problems in the implementation of rural education poverty alleviation initiatives in Shanxi Province,such as less financial education funding,weaker teachers,insufficient attention to vocational education and insufficient awareness of education poverty alleviation initiatives.To explore the influencing factors behind the problems,the following conclusions were obtained by analyzing the influencing factors of education poverty alleviation issues from both theoretical and empirical aspects: for students,there is a significant positive relationship between school infrastructure at all levels,teaching quality of schools,teaching staff,students’ willingness to receive education,and knowledge of policies with the implementation of education poverty alleviation initiatives,i.e.,school infrastructure,For parents,there is a significant positive correlation between parents’ education level,parents’ importance to vocational education,parents’ importance to their children’s education and school funding and education poverty alleviation initiatives,i.e.,the higher parents’ education level,the more importance they attach to vocational education,the the more importance they place on their children’s education and the more financial support they receive from schools in terms of education,the more conducive to the implementation of education poverty alleviation initiatives.From the theoretical and empirical analyses,it can be concluded that rural education poverty alleviation in Shanxi Province should be strengthened in four areas:financial investment,policy advocacy,teacher training,and educational concepts.Increase the investment in education funding,strengthen the construction of teacher teams,increase the policy propaganda and guide the poor to establish correct education concepts and increase the importance of education.
