As an important part of the development of grass-roots education in our country,primary schools of small towns not only plays a very important role in the development of educational development in our country,but also undertakes an important force of enlightenment children’s education.At present,small towns are faced with a series of problems,such as the serious aging of teachers,and need a group of teachers to join.Therefore,many times in recent years,the recruitment of teachers has made a large number of new teachers join,which makes the new teachers become the backbone of the primary education in small towns.However,the new teachers are mostly new teachers who just started their teaching age.The fear of entering the teaching post for the first time and the ensuing work pressure lead to the decline of teachers’ self-efficacy,which greatly hit the confidence of novice teachers.With the support of self-efficacy theory,this paper investigates the current situation of self-efficacy of a novice teacher in J Town.The author first used the teacher self-efficacy scale to measure the self-efficacy of all new teachers in the school.After sorting and analyzing the data of the effective scale,it was found that the self-efficacy of new teachers was indeed low.Then,some new teachers were interviewed to understand the specific manifestations and causes of low self-efficacy of teachers.After assessing their needs,the self-efficacy of new teachers was divided into "teaching strategy dimension efficacy,classroom management dimension efficacy and student classroom participation dimension efficacy".Therefore,8 teachers with the lowest evaluation scores were selected to participate in the group according to the voluntary principle.Under the guidance of self-efficacy theory,group work methods and skills were used to carry out group activities,and the implementation process and results of the group activities were evaluated.Finally,according to this practical activity,summarize and reflect.It is found that under the guidance of self-efficacy theory,through group activities,starting from improving the teaching strategy level,classroom management ability and building a good and reasonable relationship between teachers and students,the effectiveness of the corresponding three dimensions can be effectively improved,and finally reflected in the novice teachers,improving the self-efficacy of teachers and enhancing their self-confidence.However,it is still a long way to go for novice teachers to achieve a higher level of self-efficacy,so it is necessary to combine and participate together in order to achieve the purpose.
