Group Work Intervention In Rural Left-Behind Elderly Mutual Aid Pension Willingness Improvement

In rural areas of China,young adults in rural areas will choose to leave the countryside to work,settle,study,etc.,while their parents choose to stay in rural areas for old age due to personal emotions,living habits,economic factors,etc.This phenomenon has led to the emergence of a large number of rural left-behind elderly,and also gave birth to the problem of how to leave-behind elderly in rural areas for old age.As a new type of old-age care,mutual old-age care can effectively solve the old-age care problem to a certain extent,and the willingness of mutual old-age care,as an important indicator of participation in mutual old-age care,can effectively establish the mutual old-age care model and solve the old-age care problem by improving the willingness of mutual old-age care.Therefore,this study uses social support theory as a guide to design and carry out group work practices in order to enhance the willingness of mutual elderly care,and its function in helping rural elderly people left behind to obtain emotional support,information and services,and generate new social contacts.This study takes the rural left-behind elderly in Village C of Yilong County,Sichuan Province as an example,and uses questionnaires,interviews and scales to collect data and assess and measure the willingness of the left-behind elderly in Village C.It is found that the left-behind elderly in Village C have the following five problems: lack of emotional support,lack of leisure and entertainment,lack of access to information,negative attitudes towards their old-age life and lack of deep-rooted mutual help behavior.The emergence of such problems is influenced by the culture of rural areas,the absence of the younger generation,the incomplete construction of facilities and the inadequate implementation of policies,which makes the elderly’s elderly care problems more and more prominent.This paper uses social support theory to design and carry out six group activities with the professional method of group work,aiming at increasing the awareness of the left-behind elderly in village C about mutual help in old age,increasing the willingness of the left-behind elderly to help each other in old age,fostering a new model of old age,effectively meeting the needs of the elderly in old age and solving the difficult problem of old age,so that the left-behind elderly in rural areas can change their original state of old age life,use the model of mutual help,actively and Optimistic face of old age life,really do not worry about old age,old age have fun.This paper uses social support theory as a guide to carry out group practice activities,which has played a certain effectiveness in enhancing the willingness of rural elderly left behind to help each other and solving the difficult problem of rural elderly left behind in old age,and is reflected in the following aspects: firstly,rural elderly left behind have established closer relationships and strengthened social support networks,which can effectively prevent and solve problems;secondly,the elderly’s needs for leisure and recreation,companionship and emotional support have been met;finally,the elderly have clarified their roles,changed their attitudes,and responded positively and optimistically to their old age.Secondly,the needs of the elderly for recreation,companionship and emotional support were met;finally,the rural elderly left behind were able to clarify their roles,change their attitudes and cope with old age in a positive and optimistic way.Then,we summarize,reflect and discuss the activities carried out in this activity,and explore the feasibility of this model in Chinese rural society.
