The rural revitalization strategy is currently at the stage of poverty eradication in China,which provides opportunities and development for China’s rural areas,where the development of rural physical education teachers and the level of their professionalism will have an impact on the results of physical education.As an important part of school education,physical education teachers,like other subjects,need to take on not only the basic function of training rural reserve personnel,but also the "political edification function,cultural construction function and economic construction function",which in turn requires physical education teachers to have more professional teaching skills and a more comprehensive This has placed higher demands on the professionalism of teachers at the centre of the profession.In this study,we use literature,questionnaires,mathematical and statistical methods,interviews and case studies to investigate the current situation of physical education teachers’ professionalism in 12 rural primary schools in six counties and districts of Luoyang City,including Yichuan,Yanshui,Ruyang,Mengjin,Songxian and Xin’an,and combine it with the strategic background of "rural revitalisation" to The study aims to improve the quality of basic education in rural primary schools in Luoyang,promote the comprehensive development of rural students,and better promote the quality of physical education.quality development,to better promote quality education and to implement the strategy of national physical fitness programme,the main findings of the study are as follows:(ⅰ)Conclusion 1.The gender imbalance of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Luoyang is mainly male,the age of teachers is mainly middle-aged,and there is a lack of fresh blood for young teachers;the education of the teaching team is mainly concentrated in undergraduate and below,the teaching experience is mainly concentrated in 10-15 years or more and the level of their titles does not match well,the number of people earning 2000-2500 per month accounts for more than half of the population,which belongs to the low-income group,most of them are party members and have better Professional ethics,concern for the cultivation of the three views of students,overall enthusiasm for the profession is not high,in the middle level of Luoyang,professional knowledge and skills and teaching practice overall level is high,but general knowledge and the ability to adapt to the environment is still lacking,self-development and innovation on the importance of insufficient,innovation and research ability is weak,in addition to the lack of integration of modern information technology and the classroom,the use of insufficient.(ⅱ)Conclusion 2.From the cases of the two outstanding physical education teachers,physical education teachers must first have a thorough understanding of the core ideas of physical education teaching,imbibe the development-centred educational philosophy of students as well as change traditional teaching concepts to keep up with the times as well as fundamentally agree on the importance of physical education teachers’ moral development,focus on the cultivation of innovative abilities and cherish the development opportunities of the new era.(ⅲ)Conclusion 3.Factors affecting the professionalism of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Luoyang: external factors include national laws and regulations and policies,social level factors,school factors,and internal factors are mainly personal factors,among which personal factors are the most influential factors among many.(ⅳ)Conclusion 4.Strategies to enhance the professionalism of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Luoyang City: optimizing and improving the social security of physical education teachers in rural primary schools,further strengthening the construction of teachers’ professional ethics,enhancing the professionalism of physical education teachers before and after work,and adhering to the spirit of innovation to cultivate their own consciousness awakening.
