| With the release of Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition),mathematics has entered the era of core literacy in basic education.Junior high school is the key period to cultivate students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability,and the development of mathematical induction reasoning has an important role in the formation of students’ innovation awareness.As one of the important components of mathematical induction reasoning ability,it is often not directly reflected in the exam results,but contained in daily classroom teaching.Therefore,it is of great significance to investigate the current situation of students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability.This research first defined the core concepts of inductive reasoning,the classification of inductive reasoning,and the related concepts of mathematical induction reasoning ability,and established an evaluation system of mathematical induction reasoning ability according to the classification of reasoning ability level in PISA test and the classification criteria of core literacy in Yu Ping and others.Combined with PISA2021 test questions and related questions,a test paper that can detect students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability level was prepared,Conduct testing on students.After the test paper is recycled,the performance of students in the test questions is evaluated according to the evaluation criteria,so as to analyze the level of students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability.At the same time,the differences between students of different genders in mathematical induction reasoning ability,and the correlation between students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability and mathematical learning achievements are quantitatively analyzed.The students’ cognitive difficulties in the process of mathematical induction reasoning are diagnosed through their answers.Through investigating and analyzing the level of mathematical induction reasoning ability of eighth grade students,this study draws the following conclusions:the overall mathematical induction reasoning ability of students is at the middle level;Students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability is better in number and algebra,figure and geometry than in statistics and probability;There is no gender difference in students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability;There is a significant positive correlation between students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability and their mathematical achievements.Based on the findings of the survey,this study puts forward appropriate suggestions for teachers and students to develop students’ mathematical induction reasoning ability. |
