A Practical Study On The Construction Of Peer Support Network For The Elderly In Unit Community

China’s population aging continues to accelerate,with the proportion of the elderly population increasing year by year,and the number of elderly people also increasing.With the decline of physiological functions,the elderly have gradually become marginalized groups in the community due to the narrowing of the scope of peer communication.The elderly have experienced a period of unit system,especially for the elderly in unit based communities,where the term "unit" has a special significance.The elderly in unit based communities have a profound unit complex.Therefore,in the process of constructing a peer support network for the elderly in a unit based community,it is of important practical significance to guide the elderly to review the history and past experiences of the unit,explore the cultural resources of the unit as the material and content for remembrance,and assist them in building a peer support network.This study uses the S-unit community as the research field,and uses the team work method to construct a peer support network by organizing memorial groups for the elderly.In the commemoration theme activity,recall common experiences and past memories about the unit,close peer relationships,enhance peer identity,and guide the elderly to consolidate their peer support network.This study first investigated the peer support situation of the elderly in the S unit community through interviews,and analyzed the causes of weak peer support for the elderly.Secondly,guided by memorial therapy,the construction practice of memorial groups for the elderly was carried out,and the effectiveness of the construction of peer support networks for the elderly was analyzed.Finally,the author summarizes the strategies for constructing peer support networks for the elderly in S-unit community: First,the initiative of peer communication among the elderly needs to be improved;Secondly,the construction of peer support networks for the elderly can rely on memorial groups;Thirdly,the construction of peer support networks for the elderly can focus on unit resources;Fourth,unit cultural resources can be used as materials and content for the memory of the elderly.
