Study On Villagers’ Participation In Village Environmental Protection Under Regional Development Model

This paper takes the villagers of village X as the research object,mainly from the perspective of promoting villagers’ participation in village environmental protection,through questionnaire survey method,semi-structured interview method and participant observation method,to obtain the current situation of villagers’ participation in village environmental protection,analyze the factors affecting villagers’ participation,and use the district development model to intervene.This paper uses the district development model as the analytical framework and community work as the working method,and designs practical activities with the three objectives of stimulating villagers’ participation in village public affairs,enhancing villagers’ environmental awareness and participation ability,and consolidating villagers’ environmental participation behavior,through conducting village environmental protection councils,environmental knowledge lectures,and various practical activities related to environmental protection themes to promote villagers’ subjective Through the village environmental protection councils,environmental protection knowledge lectures and various environmental protection-related practical activities,we will promote the awakening of villagers’ awareness and responsibility,improve their environmental protection skills,and increase their participation in village environmental protection.In this practice,villagers are the main actors in the construction of the village environment,and social workers mainly play the roles of guides,resource connectors,educators,and supporters.Guided by the theory of the district development model,the authors worked in stages to establish professional relationships with villagers,seek support from village backbones,conduct community activities,and assist villages in establishing autonomous environmental organizations.The study found that the district development model works in the traditional areas of poverty alleviation and promoting better neighborhood relations,but also in the area of environmental governance,and can improve villagers’ environmental participation behavior in rural communities.Within the regional development model of Village X,party members are an important human resource in the villagers’ group,and their support for the intervention can enhance the villagers’ motivation to participate in environmental protection.Therefore,when intervening in rural communities,social workers can explore the strategy of combining social workers and party members to improve the efficiency of their work and promote service outcomes.At the same time,community work is more suitable for environmental protection work in villages than case and group work methods.Using the district development model,we can mobilize resources within the village,mobilize village residents with the help of villagers’ activists,and promote the formation of an environmental protection atmosphere in the village through self-help and mutual assistance,thus enhancing the village’s autonomy and promoting overall changes in the village’s environmental protection work.Nevertheless,poor supervision and weak enforcement are still institutional factors that limit the effectiveness of village environmental protection efforts.
