Academic burnout refers to the state of negative emotions and evasive learning behaviors when individuals face heavy academic burdens.Junior high school students are in the golden stage of learning and growth.Long-term academic burnout will not only directly affect the academic performance of junior high school students,but also endanger the body and mind health of junior high school students.Therefore,exploring the current situation,influencing factors and mechanism of academic burnout of junior high school students is of great significance for preventing and reducing academic burnout of junior high school students.In order to investigate the influence of teachers’ autonomy support on the academic burnout of junior high school students,and the mediating role of basic psychological needs and resilience between the two,this study used the Learning Climate Questionnaire,the Basic Psychological Needs Scale,the Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescents and the Learning Burnout Scale for Middle School Students,conducted a questionnaire survey on 513 junior high school students,and used SPSS26.0 to process and analyze the recovered data.The research results were as follows:(1)Junior high school students ’ teacher autonomy support is at a medium to high level,and there are significant differences in gender,grade,school type and accommodation.The basic psychological needs and resilience of junior high school students are also at a moderate to high level,and there are significant differences in gender,grade and origin.Junior high school students ’ academic burnout is at a moderately low level,and there are significant differences in gender,grade,place of origin,school type and accommodation.(2)Teachers’ autonomy support is significantly positively correlated with basic psychological needs and psychological resilience,and significantly negatively correlated with academic burnout.Basic psychological needs are significantly positively correlated with psychological resilience and significantly negatively correlated with academic burnout.Resilience was significantly negatively correlated with academic burnout.(3)Basic psychological needs and psychological resilience play a partial mediating role between teachers’ autonomy support and academic burnout.(4)Basic psychological needs and psychological resilience play a chain intermediary role between teachers’ autonomy support and academic burnout.Based on the above research results,creating an atmosphere of teachers’ independent support,meeting the basic psychological needs of students and improving the psychological resilience of junior high school students can help reduce the level of academic burnout of junior high school students.
