At present,a considerable proportion of high school students are not interested in math.However,numerous studies have shown that individuals will be more active in exploring things they are interested in,which is very important for math learning.This study draws inspiration from the learning motivation model,selects The Time Continuum Model which is most suitable for teaching procedures as the theoretical guidance,and applies it to the cultivation of high school students’ interest in mathematics learning.This thesis combines qualitative research with quantitative research.Through literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview,after in-depth analysis of a large number of relevant research data,a questionnaire is formulated,and a high school is randomly selected to investigate the current situation of interest in mathematics learning.According to the data analysis conclusions and the results of personal interviews with teachers,the strategy design of interest stimulation in teaching is proposed based on The Time Continuum Model.The study found that most high school students have a strong interest in math learning,but there is still room for improvement.There are significant differences in the interest level of different genders,and the average situation of grade is also different.There is a close relationship between learning motivation and learning interest.The six motivation factors are significantly correlated with learning interest respectively,which indicates the feasibility of applying The Time Continuum Model to the cultivation of high school students’ interest in math learning,improves the relevant research of math learning interest,The teaching experiment has achieved good results and provided a new idea for high school students to cultivate their interest in mathematics learning.
