Research On Cultivating Students’ Scientific Inquiry Ability In Rural Chemistry Experiment Teaching

As the reform concept of compulsory education is constantly updated,the curriculum concept and core quality of Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)both involve the objectives and requirements of scientific inquiry and practice,and the main form of scientific inquiry activities is to carry out experimental teaching.However,in the actual teaching process,experimental teaching has not played a role in cultivating students’ ability due to the influence of various factors.Therefore,cultivating students’ ability of scientific inquiry and practice through chemical experiment teaching is still an important issue to be implemented in the process of compulsory education reform.This study takes the cultivation of students’ scientific inquiry ability as the starting point,through the investigation of the current situation of students’ scientific inquiry ability in the third grade of rural middle school and the interview analysis of teachers,and then improves the teaching strategy of chemical experiment in rural middle school,and carries out practical teaching,aiming at providing certain references for the cultivation of students’ scientific inquiry ability in the experimental teaching of rural first-line junior middle school chemistry teachers.First of all,by searching and sorting out relevant theoretical materials of chemical experiments and scientific inquiry ability,the author understands its related basic theoretical knowledge and research status.Then,through the form of questionnaire,the author understands the attitude of township junior middle school students in Fuping County of Weinan city towards chemical experiments and the status quo of their own scientific inquiry ability,and through the interview,the author understands the teachers’ own understanding of scientific inquiry ability,the problems existing in the implementation of experimental teaching and the suggestions for effectively promoting the development of experimental teaching.Through the analysis of questionnaires and interviews,it can be seen that most students agree on the importance of chemical experiments,but most teachers pay more attention to the teaching of theoretical knowledge,coupled with the incomplete equipment and professional experimentators in the school,it is easy to cause accidents in the process of experiments.The above factors make experimental teaching less carried out,and most students’ thinking ability,hands-on ability and exploration ability are poor.Based on the above factors and on the basis of the author’s own practical teaching experience,the preliminary development of rural junior middle school chemistry experiment teaching strategy.In order to better promote the smooth development of experimental teaching,through the improvement of experimental equipment in the school and the careful design of experimental classroom by teachers,the implementation strategy of inquisitive experimental teaching is determined,and the introduction of problem situations is used to stimulate students’ interest in inquiry.After that,the teaching method of group cooperation inquiry and NB chemistry experiment design is adopted.In addition,different evaluation methods are selected in the teaching process,and then the chemistry textbooks of Guangdong education version are selected.Two classes with similar levels in grade 9 of a township junior high school in Fuping County,Weinan City are taken as the experimental class and the control class,and then the practice teaching is carried out with the exploratory experiment teaching strategy.At the end of the semester,the experimental class was tested before and after the questionnaire comparative analysis,and it was found that the experimental class students’ attitude to the experiment,interest in the experiment,including their own scientific inquiry ability in all dimensions were improved compared with that before the inquiry experiment teaching.Moreover,by analyzing the test scores of the two classes,it was found that the experimental class had significantly improved compared with the control class.The learning enthusiasm,practical ability and thinking and expression ability of students in the experimental class were improved compared with those in the control class.Based on the above research,by creating problem situations,using student group cooperative inquiry,NB chemistry experiment subject software,and finding alternatives to chemical experiments to complete simple experiments and diversity evaluation,students’ inquiry thinking can be cultivated to a certain extent,so that their academic performance and scientific inquiry ability can be improved.However,the cultivation of students’ ability of scientific inquiry cannot be accomplished overnight.The implementation of experimental teaching strategies should also be combined with specific students’ learning conditions and teaching resources and environment,which also requires constant practice,reflection and improvement.
