| The Junior high school students’ interpersonal relationships affect the development of self-esteem.If junior high school students have poor interpersonal relationships and feel excluded or discriminated against by the group,their self-esteem will be dealt a blow,and they will also feel inferior and unsatisfied,which may lead to the formation of inferiority complex.Research shows that inferiority complex will affect the development of students’ mental health.For example,students will withdraw and escape in group activities,and feel more pressure in school learning.If it is not recognized and praised enough for a long time,it will be detrimental to the development of students’ mental health.Therefore,group psychological counseling can be used as one of the ways to improve the mental health level of junior high school students to a certain extent.Through group psychological counseling,students can understand their own and others’ psychological conditions,learn to establish correct interpersonal cognition and communication skills,better adapt to the interpersonal relationship between peers,and improve self-esteem.In addition,group psychological counseling can also help junior high school students improve their emotional regulation ability,relieve learning and life pressure,and better achieve self-development and growth.Therefore,teachers should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ interpersonal skills and emotional ability in the process of education,help them form a positive attitude towards life and values,and improve self-esteem,so as to achieve the purpose of promoting the mental health of junior middle school students.The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting junior high school students’ self-esteem and carry out empirical research,and investigate and analyze the basic characteristics of junior high school students’ self-esteem,interpersonal relationship and self-esteem correlation.In this study,276 students in the eighth grade of a middle school in Baota District of Yan ’an City were selected as the research objects by using the questionnaire survey method,and the Comprehensive Interpersonal Relationship Diagnostic Scale and Self-esteem Scale were selected for investigation and statistics.Based on the survey data results,a targeted interpersonal relationship group counseling program was developed and eight group counseling courses were carried out to implement intervention.The results show that junior high school students have different degree of trouble in interpersonal relationship.Among them,there are significant differences in gender,place of origin,whether the only child or not,and whether the class work.In terms of gender,the interpersonal distress degree of female students is significantly higher than that of male students.In terms of student origin,the interpersonal distress of rural students is significantly higher than that of urban students.In the aspect of whether the only child is the only child,the interpersonal distress of the only child is higher than that of the nononly child.In terms of whether they are class leaders or not,the interpersonal distress of the students who are class leaders is lower than that of the students who are not only class leaders.The self-esteem of junior high school students is at a higher level.The interpersonal relationship and self-esteem of junior high school students showed significant gender differences,that is,the degree of interpersonal relationship distress was significantly negatively correlated with self-esteem.This study conducted group psychological counseling courses for two homogeneous classes in grade two,and divided the two classes into experimental group and control group.The course intervention was carried out for 3 months,and then the test was conducted again.Through the comparative analysis of the test data before and after the test,it was found that under the interpersonal relationship group counseling,the level of interpersonal distress of students was reduced,and the level of self-esteem was significantly improved.The research showed that the interpersonal relationship group counseling course had an effect on improving the level of self-esteem of students,and had certain practical significance for the development of students’ mental health.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The interpersonal relationship and self-esteem of junior high school students show significant gender difference and negative correlation;2.Through the intervention of interpersonal relationship group counseling course,the results show that students’ interpersonal distress is significantly reduced;3.After the intervention of interpersonal relationship group counseling course,students’ self-esteem level is significantly improved. |
