A better life has always been the goal of mankind.Since its founding,the Communist Party of China has always taken it as its goal to seek happiness for the people and achieve a better life for the people.The principal contradiction facing Chinese society in the new era is that between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people’s ever-growing needs for a better life.People’s longing for a better life in the new era calls for college students to be brave strivers in the new era.From the perspective of a better life,the connotation of college students’ struggle spirit includes tenacious struggle,courage to take responsibility,solid hard work,overcoming difficulties,and pioneering and innovative.Cultivating college students’ spirit of struggle can train and build talents,set up spiritual banner and create material wealth for realizing a better life.At the same time,the pursuit of a better life is also conducive to cultivating the spirit of struggle of college students,which is embodied in the correct attitude towards life,training excellent skills and realizing the value of life.However,there is a weakening phenomenon of college students’ struggle spirit at present,which is specifically manifested as the enhancement of individualism,the weakening of struggle consciousness,the formation of lying down mentality,the dissipation of struggle will,the rise of hedonism,and the dilution of hard work,which are attributed to the unclear cognition of college students,the family nanny education mode,the lack of efforts to cultivate the struggle spirit in colleges and universities,and the complicated social trend of thought.To optimize the cultivation path of college students’ spirit of struggle,we must exert the joint efforts of the main body.From the perspective of colleges and universities,we should enrich classroom teaching,cultivate positive motivation for struggle,build a practice platform and promote the practice of struggle spirit by educating people and stimulating emotional identification of struggle spirit.From the family dimension,we should set up the correct education concept,lead the direction of struggle,take the struggle consciousness as the logical starting point,stimulate the struggle consciousness,use the scientific education method,hone the struggle ability;From the social dimension,we should draw the striving force from the hero model,use the mainstream culture of society to unite and strive together,and cultivate the striver with positive energy network environment;From the perspective of college students themselves,it is necessary to enhance the consciousness of striving to achieve a better life,stimulate the aspiration of striving to achieve a better life,and cultivate the ability to strive to achieve a better life.
