Objective: In the pull-up test of the physical fitness assessment conducted annually in Chinese universities, only a small number of students can complete the standardized movements and reach the passing line. This study conducted experiments using an assisted pull-up trainer combined with blood flow restriction training(BFRT),which can help students who are unable to perform normal pull-ups to effectively train their strength and improve their muscle quality and strength levels.Additionally, this experiment can provide valuable data and references for related research fields.Method: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 20 male students using an assisted pull-up trainer. The experimental group underwent low-load blood flow restriction combined with assisted pullup training, while the control group underwent traditional assisted pull-up training.Prior to the experiment, maximum voluntary contraction(MVC)of biceps brachii, triceps brachii, deltoid, and brachioradialis muscle,pull-up scores(muscle endurance),biceps explosive strength and upper arm circumference were measured.Intramuscular electromyography(i EMG)was collected during the experiment for the four muscles and MVC standardization and muscle activation level(RMS)were calculated.Subjective fatigue levels of participants were also recorded numerically during both experiments. After the experiment,pull-up scores, bicep explosive strength and upper arm circumference were measured again. Finally, the collected data was processed and compared for analysis. Results: 1.During the experiment:(1)the upper limb muscles of the experimental group and control group were in a good state of activation;(2)the MVC and RMS values of biceps brachii muscle in the experimental group were significantly increased(P <0.01);(3)the RMS values of triceps brachii and deltoid muscles in the experimental group were slightly increased(P <0.05),while the MVC and RMS values of brachioradialis muscle were slightly decreased(P <0.05);(4)There was no significant difference in subjective fatigue between the experimental group and control group during the experiment.2.After intervention with both groups:(1)both groups could improve their pull-up results(P <0.01),and the average growth rate of the experimental group was 9%,which is higher than that of the control group by 2%;(2)both groups could increase the relaxed and tense circumference of the upper arm(P <0.01),and the intervention effect of experimental group was superior to that of control group;(3)there was no effect on maximum explosive strength before and after intervention for both groups(P> 0.05).Conclusion: 1.Blood flow restriction combined with low-intensity resistance exercise can significantly improve muscular endurance, muscle activation, and maximum strength in male college students.2.This exercise method can produce immediate effects on upper limb muscle strength, but effectiveness can vary.Students can simulate exercise effects using simple tools and improve physical fitness scores through appropriate training.3.This provides coaches or university teachers with an optional solution or training method when there are corresponding training conditions. |
