A Study On Maternal Narratives Of Infant Mothers And Its Social Support System Construction

Under the influence of the consciousness of traditional gender division of labor,Chinese women shoulder most of the family parenting responsibilities.Mothers of infants carry heavy burdens in intensive motherhood,but the practice of motherhood in infants is easy to be ignored by the public,which makes them bear great pressure of motherhood.This paper mainly discusses the construction of social support picture based on the narration of infant mothers’ motherhood.In this paper,based on the research method of grounded theory,fourteen data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews,analyzed by NVIVO software,and coded and analyzed infant motherhood narratives through open coding,axial coding and selective coding.First of all,the practice of infant motherhood is carried out in an analytical framework based on time and content.In terms of time,infant motherhood can be divided into four stages: initiation of motherhood,initial motherhood,basic formation of motherhood and proficiency of motherhood according to the adaptation of motherhood.In content,the practice of motherhood presents the situation of intensive and negotiation,punishment and recognition,dilemma and breakthrough.Secondly,based on the maternal narrative of infant mothers,this paper analyzes the types and sources of their existing social support and summarizes the corresponding problems existing in the existing social support of infant mothers.Furthermore,according to the problems existing in the narration of infant mothers’ motherhood and the existing social support situation,the social support picture is constructed from two aspects of family and society based on the perspective of social work.The internal family perspective is optimized from the three perspectives of infant mothers’ self-support,spousal support and grandparents’ support respectively.The external angle of society can be optimized from the workplace environment,organizational environment,welfare environment and social cultural environment.In this paper,narrative research is combined with the practice of motherhood,through the narration of individual stories,digging deep into the performance of infant motherhood practice in time and content,demonstrating social support for their motherhood practices,combining with the perspective of social work,the construction of the social support of the practice of motherhood for infants,providing theoretical support for the optimization of the practice of motherhood for infants and toddlers.
