A Study On Social Space Construction Of Social Work Participating In Motherhood Practice

The implementation of a series of policies such as "double reduction" has reduced the family’s investment in children’s extra-school tutoring training to a certain extent,and reduced the financial pressure of parents and the academic burden of children.But it also imposes stricter requirements on parents to fulfill their parenting roles.Affected by the traditional gender division of labor,women have always been the main caregivers of their children in their daily lives and the main bearers of family education.However,the dual role pressure from the workplace and family upbringing makes women face more conflicts in motherhood practice.The space of the family is difficult to meet their dual needs,and it is urgent to expand to the community.This study takes the D community social work project as a research case,using two methods of data collection,participant observation and unstructured interviews,to record and observe the current situation of the social space of motherhood practice during the project practice process.The social space of motherhood practice is divided into Parenting space,Daily life space,Social interaction space.The study found that the parenting space of motherhood practice are characterized by dynamics and diversity of family support,and separated by family and community;the daily life space of motherhood practice has the rhythm and difference of daily life.The characteristics and the problem of being "trapped" in motherhood’s daily life;the social interaction space of motherhood practice has the characteristics of weak extension and strong concentration of communication space,and the motherhood communication space has changed from public to private.Combining the three dimensions of social relationship network,trust,and norms in social capital theory,this paper constructs the social space of motherhood practice from the perspectives of trust path,normative path,and network path.From the perspective of trust path,the practice of social space trust in motherhood moves from family to community;From the perspective of normative path,spatial norms gradually become clear;From the perspective of network path,the goal of multi-dimensional development of social communication space network has been achieved.However,social work also has problems in participating in the construction of social space for motherhood practice,such as insufficient motivation for project sustainability services,institutional management capabilities that need to be strengthened,and social work service capabilities that need to be improved.Therefore,it is recommended to expand project impact through multiple channels to promote sustainable development of the project at the project level;At the level of social work institutions,institutional management capabilities should be improved;At the level of social workers service capacity,it is necessary to improve the professional service capacity of social workers,with a view to further improving the service effectiveness of social work in the construction of social space for motherhood practice,and ultimately providing a more suitable community childcare space for motherhood practice.
