Social Work In The Digital Age:Why Is It Possible?What Can Be Done?

With the advent of digitalization and information era,social and personal relationships have undergone radical changes.Digital technology has been widely used in all aspects of human life.Digital communication technology has created a new era of human communication,which has become the main way of information exchange between people,and it has revolutionized the way people communicate with each other,making revolutionary changes in society.Digital technology has brought about changes not only in the way people communicate,but also in the way people seek outside help,and more and more people are using communication technology to access information and interact socially.Social workers,practitioners and service providers are all affected by this digital transformation,which presents many opportunities,but also many challenges.And how should social workers,who are always in a state of change,face this increasingly digital society? In what direction should social work in the future evolve? Based on this,this paper takes an intelligent S-life rescue organization as a research case to study its service model of artificial intelligence online suicide intervention,explore the role and function of social workers in it,as well as the possibility and path of social work online services,and point out the direction for the future development of social work digitalization.The author collected data from the organization through participant observation and in-depth interviews,and conducted an in-depth investigation of S-Life Rescue,which found that S-Life Rescue’s actions are based on the artificial intelligence technology "tree hole robot" to screen messages on microblogs,identify high-risk people and potential high-risk people,and after identifying them After the identification,volunteers are organized to rescue these people online.Summarizing its rescue process,we found that S-Life Rescue mainly adopts big data and artificial intelligence technologies to identify and screen potential risk people,and then organizes human resources to rescue the risk people.Social work in the future development can use artificial intelligence,big data and other such science and technology to help the play of social work services,can be through big data screening out possible high-risk rescue people,through artificial intelligence technology in the network to seek more people to help,to provide services for more people,so as to better promote the development of digital social work.
