Vigorously carrying technology education and cultivating talents with innovative ability and Technological literacy are important directions of talent cultivation in China at this stage.Only by deeply understanding the nature of technology and the process and law of technological innovation development can we clarify the essence of innovation and carry out innovation activities under its guidance.In order to develop students’ biology literacy and enhance their understanding of the nature of technology,under the guidance of the new curriculum standard,this research developed a high school biology school-based curriculum called "Brilliant Technology-History of Diabetes Drug Development",and conducted a 12-week teaching practice and effect test in Shanghai TS School.At the stage of school-based curriculum development,this study used the literature research method to sort out and analyze the research status quo of Technology-based education and school-based curriculum development at home and abroad,and used the survey method to carry out the front-end analysis of the internal and external environment and the learning needs of students,to confirm the adaptation of the curriculum and the environment.Secondly,based on the analysis of subject curriculum standards,school philosophy and the objectives of technology-based education,the overall objectives of the curriculum were established.In addition,In the context of students’ learning conditions and The objectives of the curriculum,the course followed the principle of integrating science and interest,Sorted out the course context,organized the course content and compiled course handouts.The course consists of three chapters: "Entering the world of diabetes patients","History of diabetes treatment technology",and "The essence of technological innovation and prospects for diabetes treatment".Then,the appropriate teaching methods were selected.Finally,the effectiveness of the course was evaluated based on the paper-and-pencil test,the "concept of technology" evaluation scale,and the portfolio evaluation(including the classroom study list,group activity results).Through the questionnaire and student interviews,we can understand the students’ feedback on the course attitude,content,impact,improvement,and evaluate the applicability of the course,then use this as the basis for course improvement and refinement.The research results show that the implementation of this school-based curriculum was effective,and the biology school-based curriculum,which points to the education of the nature of technology,had a positive impact on students,mainly reflected in: before and after the implementation of the curriculum,students’ paper and pencil test scores have significantly improved(P<0.05),biological literacy and understanding of the nature of technology have shown significant improvement at different levels in all dimensions,scale evaluation The group design results also reaffirmed the positive impact of the course on students’ understanding of the nature of technology.In addition,students gave positive feedback on the course,which increased students’ interest in biology and even various technologies in life.On the whole,this study is the first attempt to carry out the essence of technology education based on the school-based curriculum of high school biology in China,and confirms the feasibility of developing technology education based on this path,which can provide a reference for the development and practice of school-based curriculum of the same type.
