With the development of the times,the reform of the education system,and the transformation of talent needs,the global education trend is increasingly inclined to cultivate comprehensive talents.Comprehensive talents are the fundamental task that must be highly valued in future oriented education,so it is particularly important to cultivate students’ comprehensive practical abilities in primary school.The purpose of this article is to guide students to apply "inquiry learning" to construct a new teaching model in the art classroom,in order to improve their comprehensive practical ability and lay a solid foundation for adapting to social changes and lifelong development.This topic focuses on the application of "inquiry learning" teaching mode in the art classroom,taking fourth grade primary school students as the research object,and using the school art classroom to implement inquiry teaching to cultivate the comprehensive practical ability of primary school students.This study fully combines the curriculum characteristics of "inquiry learning",develops the "inquiry learning" model into the elementary school art unit curriculum,and carries out art education practice in combination with current marine environmental issues.In the practice of art classroom teaching,teachers follow the autonomous inquiry classroom model,providing students with an equal,open,and democratic teaching environment,thereby achieving the goal of improving students’ comprehensive practical ability.This article has been discussed and explained from four aspects.The first chapter is the theoretical basis of the full text,which is the literature and theoretical research on "inquiry learning" and "comprehensive practical ability" to understand the current research situation.The second chapter of this article analyzes and studies the current situation and problems of "inquiry learning" in primary school art classrooms and the comprehensive practical ability of contemporary primary school students.The third chapter of this article is based on the understanding of current basic research,combing out some feasible solutions,and developing an art exploration course on marine environmental protection,named "Blue Planet Project".The course emphasizes students’ independent exploration,design and creation in groups,and display in various forms to achieve the teaching purpose of improving students’ comprehensive practical ability.The fourth chapter is about the effectiveness and analysis of cultivating pupils’ comprehensive practical ability under the "inquiry learning" art teaching mode.Through quantitative data and qualitative observation,it is confirmed that the "inquiry learning" art teaching mode can improve pupils’ comprehensive practical ability.
