Mathematics has strong applicability and provides rich mathematical models for all walks of life.With the widespread use of new curriculum standards and textbooks,mathematical modeling,as one of the core competencies of the six major mathematical disciplines,has received more and more attention.In the past teaching of mathematical modeling,there were often problems such as difficulty in evaluating modeling ability,lecture method,and students’ poor emotional attitudes.This study combines cooperative learning with mathematical modeling teaching to form an efficient mathematical modeling teaching model.The following issues are mainly studied:1、What changes have taken place in students’ mathematical modeling competences before and after the teaching of mathematical modeling under the cooperative mode?2、What are the effects of mathematical modeling teaching on students’ emotions under cooperative mode?Through conducting a semester-long teaching of mathematical modeling for 34 Grade 10 students,conducting a pre-test and post-test on the 34 students’ mathematical modeling ability and mathematical learning emotions with questionnaire,and interviewing three of the students for three times,the following conclusions were found:1,Through mathematical modeling teaching under the cooperative mode,students have improved their understanding of mathematical modeling and have improved their mathematical modeling abilities in three dimensions: discovering and posing problems,establishing models,solving and improving models;2,Through mathematical modeling teaching under cooperative mode,students’ learning emotions have become more active,reflecting on the dimension of interactive emotions,learning motivation,learning will and learning beliefs.This study provides suggestions on the cooperative awareness and ability,selection of teaching material,evaluation strategies,mathematical modeling activities,and evaluation of mathematical modeling ability in conducting mathematical modeling teaching under the cooperative mode.
