Under the general trend of national education reform and development,core literacy has become a hot topic.How to cultivate and implement students’ core literacy has become the top priority in teaching.On the basis of traditional teaching,this study innovatively optimizes the design of large unit teaching by taking basketball project as an example and applies it to experimental teaching,aiming at exploring the practical effect of high school basketball large unit teaching under the background of subject core literacy,and cultivating and implementing students’ core literacy.The significance lies in improving students’ learning interest,attitude and sports ability,and promoting the development and perfection of large unit teaching.By using the method of literature,questionnaire,interview,experiment and mathematical statistics,this study takes two groups of students in Grade one of the Second Senior High School in Jianan District,Xuchang City as the experimental objects.The large unit teaching scheme is designed and applied to high school basketball teaching for group experiment.The experimental group uses the large unit teaching design scheme for experimental teaching and the control group adopts traditional teaching.Before and after the experiment,the two groups of students were respectively tested in terms of physical quality,basketball skills,interest and attitude.Finally,SPSS26 and Excel were used to compare and analyze the test data,providing practical support for this study.The experimental results were as follows:(1)before and after the experiment,P values of all dimensions of interest in exercise attitude in the experimental group were<0.01,which was very significant;the dimension of interest in exercise attitude in exercise enthusiasm and exercise attitude in the control group was significant(P<0.05),but the dimension of solidarity spirit was not significant(P>0.05);(2)Before and after the experiment,the 50-meter running of male and female students in the experimental group(P<0.05)were significant,the standing long jump of male students(P<0.05)was significant,but that of female students(P>0.05)was not significant,and the 50-meter running of male students and the standing long jump of female students in the control group(P>0.05)were not significant.The boys’ standing long jump and girls’ 50 m jump were significant(P<0.05).(3)All dimensions of basketball skill in the experimental group(P<0.05)were significant before and after the experiment,while dimension number of one-minute spot shooting and technical evaluation in the control group(P>0.05),dimension of three-step layup passing the ball and evaluation of two-and-one breakthrough shooting technique were not significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)Large unit teaching and traditional teaching can promote students’ physical quality to some extent.After the experiment,the experimental group using the large unit teaching design scheme achieved significantly higher physical performance than the traditional control group.(2)The application of basketball large unit teaching design scheme in practical teaching is conducive to improving students’ basketball skills.The experimental group’s basketball skills index score is significantly higher than that of the control group,which is more conducive to improving students’ sports ability.(3)The experimental group teaching through the large unit teaching design scheme is more conducive to cultivating students’ interest and attitude.After the large unit teaching experiment,students have been well improved in sports ability,sports morality and healthy behavior,gradually implementing the core quality of physical education,and promoting students to become well-developed people.
