Purpose: This study compares the two training effects through multiple combination training method and cross interval training method to provide more reference value for the physical training of youth field hockey players. Methods: Sixteen athletes from the Jiangsu youth women’s field hockey team were used as subjects and paired into a multiple combination training group(M)and a cross interval training group(C).Both groups were trained with the same amount of exercise for an 8-week experimental intervention. The ten-item physical fitness test of the State General Administration of Sports was used as the evaluation index, and three tests were conducted from the pre-experimental period, the middle period and the end period, and the results of each physical fitness index of the two training methods were compared with the total score, exercise centrality and Rating of Perceived Exertion(RPE)by analysis of covariance and paired sample test.Research Results:(1)Compared with the pre-experimental period, the 30 m time was shortened at the end of the experiment P < 0.05;BMI,seated forward bend, vertical jump,3000 m,and total score were significantly improved,P < 0.01.(2)The time was shortened in the middle of the 30-m sprint run experiment compared with the first period,P < 0.01 for group C and P < 0.05 for group M.The time was further shortened in the end of the experiment compared with the middle period,P < 0.05 for group C and P < 0.05 for group M.(3)At the end of the 3000 m experiment compared with the middle period, the time of group M was shortened by P < 0.05,and the time of group C was further shortened by P < 0.01.(4)The performance of deep squat and abdominal endurance experiment in group M improved in the middle period compared with the previous period,P <0.05;the weight of bench press and pull-ups increased significantly,P < 0.01;the weight of bench press and deep squat and abdominal endurance time increased in group C,P < 0.05;the number of pull-ups increased significantly,P < 0.01.The performance of bench press, deep squat,pull-ups and abdominal endurance experiment in group M further improved in the end period compared with the middle period,P <0.01;back muscle endurance time increased,P <0.05;group C bench press and abdominal muscle endurance further improved,P <0.01;back muscle endurance,pull-up and deep squat scores improved,P <0.05(5)Deep squat weight and abdominal muscle endurance duration were significantly different at the end of the experiment compared between groups P <0.05.(6)Ten index test scores in the middle of the experiment compared with the pre-experimental period, the overall performance of group C has further improved,P < 0.01,group M P < 0.05.,the two groups at the end of the experiment compared between the groups to increase the score P < 0.01,the statistical results are significantly different.(7)The values of RPE and heart rate in the two groups P > 0.05,and the results were not significantly different. Conclusion: Under the same exercise volume, both the multiple combination training method and the cross interval training method can effectively improve the strength quality of athletes, and both of them have different effects on the body shape and flexibility quality in the evaluation system of physical fitness index. The crossover interval training method is better than the multiple combination training method in improving the speed and endurance quality of athletes.
