With the popularization and deepening of higher education in China,private higher education has experienced significant development.Its flexible management mechanisms,innovative teaching models,and vibrant faculty have injected fresh vitality into the reform,innovation,and connotative development of higher education.University teachers shoulder multiple responsibilities,including talent cultivation,academic research,and social services,making them crucial in determining the quality of talent development in schools.However,influenced by factors such as the professional characteristics of the teaching staff and the current management situation,universities face challenges in forming a scientifically effective evaluation of teacher performance.This contradiction is particularly prominent in private colleges,where the unscientific and imperfect performance assessment indicator system hinders the construction of faculty and the improvement of education and teaching quality.Based on this,this paper employs methods such as literature research,case analysis,and survey interviews.It draws on relevant theoretical research and achievements of domestic and foreign scholars in the construction of teacher performance assessment indicator systems to summarize the professional characteristics of the teaching staff and the research status of teacher performance assessment indicator systems in private colleges.This study selects the teacher performance assessment indicator system that has been adopted for many years in JC Private College as the research object,conducts a comprehensive and in-depth decomposition and analysis of its indicators,and combines quantitative analysis methods to conduct comparative analysis of teacher performance assessment results through stratified sampling.Additionally,the study explores the shortcomings of the current teacher performance assessment indicator system in JC Private College and the reasons behind them by combining the results of relevant evaluations and interviews with assessment subjects at the school.The analysis covers various problems and their causes in the evaluation subjects,indicator design by decisionmaking levels,implementation of the assessment process,and feedback of results.Taking a problem-oriented approach,this paper proposes that the teacher performance assessment indicator system in JC Private College needs optimization.After comparing and analyzing various decision-making methods,Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)is selected as a scientific and objective decision-making approach to determine the weights of the teacher performance assessment indicator system in JC Private College.By comparing the differences in the adjusted scores of the old and new assessment indicator systems after weight determination,the core content for optimizing the design of the teacher performance assessment indicator system is proposed.Moreover,suggestions and countermeasures are provided for the later evaluation,application,and guarantee measures of the optimization design plan.This approach will provide a theoretical basis for establishing a sound teacher performance evaluation mechanism in JC Private College,improve the scientificity and effectiveness of teacher performance assessment,promote the continuous optimization of the faculty construction in the college,and fundamentally drive the connotative development of private higher education.This paper not only offers targeted improvement suggestions for the teacher performance assessment indicator system in JC Private College but also provides useful references for establishing a sound teacher performance evaluation mechanism in private colleges in China.
