Reading is an important way to collect information and understand the world, and primary school is the best period for the development of reading ability.Children with developmental dyslexia have difficulty reading and can affect individual development.Today’s society requires children to have the ability to read quickly and accurately, and reading fluency deficits account for a relatively high proportion of dyslexic children.Vocabulary knowledge and syntactic awareness play a very important role in reading and are closely related to reading fluency. Therefore, according to the screening criteria, children with dyslexia were selected from the second, fourth and sixth grade students of a primary school, and then children of the same age were selected as the control group, and the differences and development trends of vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and reading fluency of the two groups were compared, and the influence mechanism of vocabulary knowledge and syntactic awareness on reading fluency was discussed. After the two groups of children completed the test tasks of vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and reading fluency, the data were analyzed by variance analysis, hierarchical regression and structural equation model, and the results showed that:(1)in the second, fourth and sixth grades, the test scores of dyslexic children in vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and reading fluency were significantly lower than those of normal children; There were significant grade differences in vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and reading fluency test scores between dyslexic and normal children, and the scores increased with the increase of grades.(2)Among dyslexic children and normal children, vocabulary knowledge and syntactic awareness were significantly correlated with reading fluency, and vocabulary knowledge and syntactic awareness had a significant predictive effect on reading fluency;(3)Syntactic consciousness affects reading fluency through vocabulary knowledge.Conclusions:(1)Children with dyslexia have defects in vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and reading fluency;(2)syntactic awareness and vocabulary knowledge of normal children and dyslexic children continue to develop in primary school; The development characteristics of reading ability are in line with the theory of reading development stages;(3)Vocabulary knowledge and syntactic awareness have a significant predictive effect on reading fluency, and vocabulary knowledge plays a partial mediating role between syntactic awareness and reading fluency.
