Joint Goods,obligations And Group Solidarity

With the development and rise of the Internet,virtual communities have become an important field for people’s daily interactions and interactions,in which people engage in social activities such as information sharing,emotional expressions,and commercial transactions.In the modern society where social and entertainment needs are increasing,the number and types of virtual communities are expanding,and virtual communities based on funky edge have attracted the attention of many scholars.Using blind box enthusiast virtual communities as the research object,this paper explores how dispersed blind box enthusiast individuals gather in virtual communities to form a stable and united community order by interviewing blind box enthusiasts as well as observing the interactions in virtual communities and applying group solidarity theory.To a certain extent,this study describes and presents a picture of the online social relations and social interactions of youth subcultural groups.First,it is argued that blind box virtual communities are based on individual demand for virtual common goods such as information,social identity,and friendship,and that individual members rationally decide to continuously provide obligatory contributions to facilitate the production of common goods.Second,the dynamics of solidarity community order include dependency,visibility,and reward and punishment mechanisms.Among them,the dependency mechanism considers the factors of dependency among the members of this virtual community as the difficulty in obtaining the supply of other alternatives,the cost of moving to a new community,and the personal charisma of the group manager;in the visibility mechanism,the social activities of individuals placed in the public space and the monitoring costs shared by the group will enhance the visibility of individual behavior in the group;The rewards in the reward and punishment mechanism are embodied in the sustained friendship obtained by smaller groups based on information and hobbies.Under the measures of public sanctions and expulsion from the group,the goal of strengthening the punishment of members who violate the rules is jointly achieved.Under the combined effect of dependency,visibility,and reward and punishment mechanisms,members submit to group norms and form a solidarity community order.Eventually,under the influence of the solidarity order,the scope and extent of obligatory contributions expand and deepen,the power of the community group begins to expand,and the virtual community reshapes the behavior of individuals in the group,further consolidating and stabilizing the community order.
