In recent years, whether in government reports or within the academic community, there have been discussions on how to cultivate and build social work professional talent teams, forming different advocates such as professionalization, professionalization, localization, and redness. There have also been discussions on the training positioning of different universities, such as theoretical, practical, versatile, versatile, and employable. With the new requirements put forward by the development of the times, the talent team of social workers not only needs to continue to grow, but also needs to continuously improve their service quality. However,in reality, there is still a clear tension in the process of aligning the positioning of social work talent cultivation in universities with practical needs. This requires reflection on the current mode of social work professional talent cultivation in universities, insight into the inherent texture of its problems, and proposing practical paths for the cultivation of social work professional talents in the new era. With such research attention, this article mainly conducts empirical research, relying on interview methods and other methods to conduct rich social research on managers, subject leaders, frontline teachers, graduates, and employers in higher education institutions. From this,it attempts to respond to the issue of how higher education institutions integrate diverse orientations and paths in cultivating social work professionals.Based on empirical research and theoretical analysis,it is found that respecting diversity and diversification is the premise for the sustainable development of a major. However, facing the multiple voices of the same professional talent training mode and approach,it is easy to fall into a state of fragmentation, thus lacking in-depth inquiry and long-term exploration of the nature of the major.Behind these divergent discussions, the root of the problem lies in the fact that the subject knowledge system from the west to the middle needs to be reproduction, the emerging social service needs to be rediscovered, and the university evaluation system of different majors needs to be enriched. Therefore, this article believes that emphasizing the cultivation of professional talents should not be an either or split, but should revert to returning to the essence of social work, facing the laws of talent cultivation, and constantly adapting to the new needs of the times. In this way,the cultivation of social work professional talents in higher education institutions can shoulder the expectations of high-quality services in the context of the new era.
