As a long-established literary genre,fables are an important part of language teaching in junior secondary schools.Its short length,concise language,vivid plot,philosophical and profound educational significance.The study of fables is conducive to the implementation of core language literacy,but in the actual teaching of fables,there are still some problems.For example,teachers do not pay enough attention to the teaching of fables,fable teaching tends to be patterned,and students’ knowledge of and interest in fables is insufficient.Therefore,to enhance the educational value of fable texts and to implement the concept of core language literacy has become an important task that needs to be solved in junior high school language teaching.This article explores strategies for improving students’ core literacy in junior high school fable teaching,based on the Ministry of Education’s junior high school textbook and guided by the concept of core language literacy,in the hope of providing reference for junior high school fable teaching practice,mainly from the following sections:The introductory section focuses on the reasons for selecting the topic,the purpose of the study,the significance of the study,the current status of the study,and the research methodology.Chapter 1,an overview of language immersion and fairy-tale education in upper secondary schools.It defines the basic concepts of language immersion and storytelling,analyses the relevance of the two and explains the theoretical basis of the present study.Chapter 2,Analysis of the characteristics and values of fable selections in middle school in the context of language core literacy,composes the status of fable selections in textbooks and analyzes the characteristics and values of fable selections from the perspective of language core literacy.Chapter 3,questionnaires and interviews are used to investigate the overview of teaching fables in junior high schools today,and the results are analyzed..Chapter 4,this chapter is based on language core literacy and proposes strategies for teaching fables in junior high school in response to the problems in current teaching practice,and this part is the focus of the dissertation research.Chapter 5,A practical study of teaching fairy tales in secondary school from a basic language skills perspective,builds on the above study to plan and reflect on the teaching of fairy tales using The Oil Seller as an example,in an attempt to explore the value of teaching fairy tales in developing basic language skills and to provide a case study for teaching fairy tales in secondary school language.e Literacy,this chapter carries out the teaching design and reflection on the example of The Oil Seller on the basis of the above study,in an effort to explore the teaching value of the article in cultivating language core literacy and provide a case reference for teaching fables in middle school language.The concluding remarks summarize the research content of this paper,reflect on the shortcomings of the research,and propose future research directions.
