STSE education attaches importance to the relationship between science,technology,society and environment,aiming at improving students’ ability of participation,cooperation,adaptation,exploration and innovation.The STSE materials contained in the textbooks are the premise of developing STSE education.The author makes a comparative analysis of the STSE contents in the compulsory chemistry textbooks published by People’s Education Press(1995edition,2002 edition,2004 edition and 2019 edition)over the years,and makes clear the characteristics and laws of updating the STSE contents in each edition,which is helpful for teachers to better understand and use the STSE materials in the new textbooks to carry out teaching.First of all,this study consulted and sorted out the relevant literature at home and abroad,and formulated the teaching material analysis framework based on STSE education,including seven secondary dimensions(chemical frontier,scientific development,technology application,high and new technology,production and life,social progress and ecological environment),and further sorted out the three dimensions,coded them and formulated coding rules to complete the reliability test.Secondly,according to the compiled analysis framework,the STSE materials contained in the preface,text,columns and exercises of the above four editions of textbooks are classified and counted.First,the overall change trend is compared and analyzed according to the second dimension,and then the gradual change law of content selection and presentation mode is analyzed in detail,so as to sort out the characteristics and innovations of STSE content in the new edition of textbooks.Through the research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)STSE materials in the new textbook pay more attention to social life and rational thinking;Reflect the development trend of science and technology and show national self-confidence;Highlight the scientific development process and pay attention to the cultivation of chemical thinking;Focus on the positive role of chemical science in environmental protection and sustainable development.Based on this,the following suggestions are put forward for teachers to use STSE materials in textbooks to carry out teaching activities: carefully create teaching situations to stimulate students’ emotional resonance;Promote the transformation of educational methods and cultivate students’ core literacy with the help of diversified STSE columns in new textbooks;Actively develop STSE teaching resources and promote the formation of an open teaching material view;Attach importance to the illustration function and give full play to its STSE educational value;Analyze STSE test questions and pay attention to classification. |
