With the promulgation of the new curriculum standards in 2017,a new round of curriculum reform has been carried out.The new geography teaching material of 2019,which implements the new curriculum standards,has been put into use nationwide.Compared with the old one,the new teaching material has obvious changes,and the use time is relatively short.Therefore,it is necessary to master the problems existing in the use of new textbooks by teachers and students,and put forward effective use strategies of new textbooks,so as to provide valuable references for teachers and students,so as to optimize the use of new geography textbooks.Based on the research and analysis of the use of domestic and foreign textbooks,this study used expert consultation,questionnaire survey,and data analysis methods to obtain the current implementation status of new high school geography textbooks.According to the survey results,it was found that the main problems with the implementation of the new textbook are:(1)in terms of the concept of the new textbook: the practicality of the new textbook training is not strong;The understanding of the new geography curriculum standard is still shallow.(2)In terms of textbook use: Inaccurate grasp of textbook changes;Inadequate use of textbook images and activity systems.(3)In terms of classroom teaching: outdated teaching methods and outdated teaching methods;Students have a single learning style,etc.In response to the problems in the survey,improvement strategies are proposed from the level of teachers,students and schools:(1)In terms of teacher,it is necessary to grasp the geography curriculum standards and deeply understand the teaching materials;Scientifically and reasonably use textbooks and maximize their effectiveness;Transform teaching methods to meet the needs of the new curriculum reform.(2)In terms of student: enhancing interest in geography learning;Participate in geographical practice activities and improve problem-solving skills;Participate in geographical learning groups and play the role of cooperative learning.(3)On the school side:organizing effective training;Attach importance to geography teaching and research,etc.The research is implemented in the application practice,the implementation of the new textbook use strategy to carry out teaching experiments,and its effectiveness is tested.The results showed that: 1.The experimental class had the same performance as the control class in the monthly examination(P*>0.05),and by the end of the semester,both the average score and the passing rate were far more than the control class(P*<0.01).2.Through the comparison of the correct rate of in-class testing and the comparison of students’ homework,the experimental class students’ classroom listening effect and geographical practice ability are better than the control class.3.After the experiment,questionnaire survey and interview were conducted on the teachers and students.The survey results showed that students in the experimental class had higher classroom performance and interest in geography learning than those in the control class.To sum up:The strategies of using textbooks proposed in this study provide reference for teachers’ teaching.The implementation of the strategies of using new textbooks not only improves students’ interest in learning geography and mastery of knowledge,but also cultivates students’ core literacy in geography...
