Scale thought is one of geographic core literacy,and it is gradually integrated into middle school geography teaching.Geography textbooks which are the most used by students,also contain the idea of scale.This study defines the basic content of the scale thoughts,it comprise of scale selective,scale division,scale match,scale linkage,scale effect and scaling.Then,analysis high school textbooks of Hunan and Poeple’s education publish edition by the geography textbook thematic analysis method,content method and comparison method.The following conclusions are drawn:Fist,overall analysis.Hunan Education Edition more reflect the idea of scale than people’s Education Edition,each 49 and 42 content points.People’s education edition value scale effect,but lack of scale matching.Hunan Education Edition plays great emphasize on scale division and scale effect,but lack of scale linkage.Second,volume analysis.People’s Education Edition’s content points are distributed in each volume,while Hunan Education Edition focuses on Geography 1 and Selective Compulsory 3.Third,category composition analysis.Both versions of textbooks pay more attention to the division of spatial scale,and the division of time scale needs to be strengthened.The matching of large spatial scale and long-time scale are attached by two versions.In terms of the impact of small-scale change on large-scale,the People’s Education Edition tends tot he impact of pollutant diffusion,and the Hunan Education Edition tends to geographical environment change.Prefer from large-scale to small-scale analysis to solve geographical problems.Hunan Education Edition only has downscaling,People’s Education edition also has upscaling,they are 3 and4 respectively.Finally,teaching design of Geography 1 by scale thoughts.Combined with the practical teaching and students’ status,summarizes the following teaching strategies:1,Analyze the spatial location by scale division and scale effect to teaching geographical location.Then,convert different scales to describe geographical things.2,Place geographical things in different spatial scales when teaching geographical distribution so as to explore the factors affecting their distribution.3,Divide the process of the geographical things into different time scales when teaching geographical process.So as to deepen students’ cognition of the development and change of geographical things.
