| After-school service is a kind of extended education service provided by schools for unsupervised students within two hours after school from Monday to Friday, based on the principle of voluntary participation of students and parents. The study of after-school services in rural elementary school in the context of "double reduction" is important for improving the quality of afterschool services in rural elementary school, alleviating the anxiety of rural parents, and promoting the overall development of rural students. In this study,10 teachers,196 students in grades 4-6 and 185 parents of students in grades 1-6 were selected from Y elementary school in Zhangjiakou Economic Development Zone using literature research, questionnaire survey, interview and observation methods. In the context of "double reduction",we found the following problems in the after-school service of this township elementary school: vague target orientation of after-school service;imperfect after-school service plan;lack of diversity in the content of after-school service;one-size-fits-all length of after-school service;insufficient teachers for afterschool service;single source of funding for after-school service;lack of criteria for after-school service evaluation;and single way of after-school service evaluation.Through analysis,it is believed that the reasons for these problems are:poor resources in townships;lack of in-depth understanding of after-school service policies by various subjects;and lack of effective institutional guarantee and evaluation system. On this basis, the optimized countermeasures proposed for after-school services in township elementary school are: the government increases the publicity of after-school services;the government improves the supervision and management mechanism;the government establishes a diversified funding guarantee mechanism;the school sets up reasonable goals for after-school services;the school formulates a well-thought-out plan for after-school services;the school establishes flexible service hours;the school provides diversified service contents;the school optimizes curriculum evaluation standards. |
