| The promulgation of the "Opinions on Deepening the Integration of Sports and Education to Promote the Healthy Development of Teenagers" has determined that the cultivation of reserve talents for youth competitive sports in the new era must follow the path of collaborative governance.Henan Province,as a populous and martial arts major province,is an important area for the development and promotion of taekwondo. The cultivation and development of reserve talents in competitive taekwondo play an important role in the overall development of the country’s competitive taekwondo. However,in recent years, the competitive taekwondo program in Henan Province has faced the dilemma of a steep decline in the number of medals won in various competitions, and difficulty in breaking through the medal ranking in national competitions. The cultivation of reserve talents has become an urgent issue that needs to be solved. This study conducts research, statistics, and analysis on the current situation of reserve talents in Henan Province’s competitive taekwondo, explores the cultivation of reserve talents in Henan Province, summarizes the problems in the development of reserve talents in Henan Province, and puts forward reasonable suggestions,in order to provide theoretical reference for promoting the improvement and development of reserve talent construction and training in Henan Province’s competitive taekwondo.Research method: A literature review, questionnaire survey, and semi-structured interview were used to investigate the reserve talents of competitive taekwondo in Henan Province. In the part of questionnaire survey,27 valid questionnaires for coaches and 699 questionnaires for reserve talents were distributed and collected from sports schools in various cities of Henan Province.mathematical statistics was used to analyze the collected questionnaire data.Research conclusion:1.The development of competitive taekwondo in Henan Province has gone through the first stage of construction(1998-2005),during which the national and global competition results remained at a relatively low level; The initial development period of the second stage(2006-2012)saw its first significant growth and fell back to the level of the construction period in 2012;The third stage of vigorous development(2013-2019)After 2013,the competitive performance of Taekwondo in Henan Province experienced explosive growth, reaching its peak in 2019;The fourth stage fluctuation period(from 2020 to present)saw a significant decline in the competitive performance of Taekwondo in Henan Province after 2020.2.Henan Province’s reserve talents for competitive taekwondo are distributed in 15 cities across the province, and there are still 3 cities that have not trained reserve talents for taekwondo. The training positions for reserve talents need to be expanded. From the perspective of gender structure, the male to female ratio of reserve talents is imbalanced, and the number of female reserve talents is too small to provide sufficient female taekwondo athletes for the provincial team.In terms of age,the cultivation and retention process involves a more scientific understanding of the age structure. From the perspective of weight level, there are fewer reserve talents at the large level, while there are more junior and intermediate talents, which weakens the training, competition, and experience advantages that Henan Province has at the large level. The overall technical level of reserve talents is backward. In terms of coaches, the number of coaches in the middle age group is relatively small, and the distribution structure of coaching experience shows an "hourglass" pattern; In a state of ’temporary shortage’.Most coaches do not meet their training needs; Most coaches do not meet their training needs; The vast majority of coaches have poor participation in further education and scientific research.3.The reserve talents of Henan Province’s competitive taekwondo mainly come from six cities: Anyang,Kaifeng,Jiaozuo,Zhoukou,Xinxiang, and Luoyang.Zhumadian and Zhengzhou cities provide relatively few talents, while Jiyuan and Hebi cities do not provide students. The student market needs to be explored. The independent enrollment and selection of schools is the main channel for selecting reserve talents in Henan Province’s competitive taekwondo, and cross event selection is also a selection channel being explored in Henan Province.4.The training plan for reserve talents in Henan Province’s competitive taekwondo is relatively reasonable.Reserve talents practice 6days a week, and most reserve talents report a large amount of training. The study time of cultural courses for reserve talents has not met the basic requirements of the country.Long training time, high intensity, and long recovery time have led to the occupation of reserve talents’ study time, poor coordination between learning and training, and prominent contradictions between learning and training.5.There are few opportunities for reserve talents in Henan Province to practice competitive taekwondo through competitions; There are fewer opportunities to participate in official competitions held annually, which affects the development of reserve talents.Insufficient funding and rewards for the competition.Suggestion:1.Fully expand the training base for reserve talents, explore the source market, and form a provincial-level talent "supply cultivation" ecosystem;2.Increase the enrollment of female and high-level reserve talents, make up for the shortcomings of female projects, and leverage the strengths of high-level projects;3.Pay attention to the development of core coaches, organize and encourage coaches to participate in further education and scientific research;4.The management department should introduce measures for the cultural and educational management of reserve talents, and reasonably adjust the conflicts between learning and training;5.Create a multi-level competition system and improve the competition incentive mechanism. |
