Compulsory education is the basis of education,and its quality directly affects further education.However,according to the design of the education system,the compulsory education is divided into two stages,primary school and junior high school.The change of stage is a obstacle for students’ continuous learning.In 2022,the Ministry of Education recently issued the Science Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(briefly referred as Science Curriculum Standards)and the Biology Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(briefly referred as Biology Curriculum Standards),which make new requirements for the connection between primary school and junior high school.In both documentaries,the idea of cohesion is built into the curriculum concept,and unlike the previous curriculum standards,the science curriculum also expand its scope from Grade 1 to Grade9.In order to help students adapt to junior high school life easily and promote the development of students’ core competencies of the subject and lifelong development in learning,it’s necessary for teachers to find suitable teaching cohesion strategies that could connect the science of primary school with the junior high school biology.By referring to the relevant domestic and foreign teaching materials about connection in primary school science and junior high school biology,as well as sorting out the curriculum standards and teaching contents of the two stages,all these materials provide certain references for junior high school biology teachers and provide theoretical support for this research at the same time.This research makes a survey which mainly focus on some schools in Zhongyuan District,Zhengzhou,Henan province.This research takes senior science teachers in primary school,junior high school biology teachers and junior high school students as research subjects.Then the results were sorted out and analyzed.According to the results,although teachers in these two stages have certain cognition of the idea about teaching cohesion.However,teachers seldom communicate with each other about how to help students better understand the relation between the two subjects.In addition,the teaching methods of elementary teachers are relatively simple,which is not conducive to cultivate students’ core competencies and learning interests.At the same time,after biology is added into the subject of senior high school’ entrance examination,teachers mainly tend to use simply teaching method and practice method.Besides,the experimental courses which pays attention to practicing are reduced.The results of the questionnaire show that students are more interested in biology and more eager to participate in learning exploration.What’s more,the adaptation ability of students was investigated after entering junior high school.The results show that with the teachers’ help,most of the students could be quickly engaged in studying biology during the first month in junior high school.This research chose four classes in grade one to make experiments on teaching connection practice in junior high school.The teaching practice was divided into two stages: transition connection for admission and daily teaching connection.During the transition period of the first month in the first year of junior high school,the researcher adopted teaching methods and models that are mainly used in primary school.The researcher paid attention to cultivating students’ learning habits and strengthening the relationship between teachers and students during the teaching process.The purpose is to help students adapt to junior high school life better and faster.In daily teaching period,Teachers need to organize the interface between the content and goals of elementary science and middle school biology,and know about students’ abilities,and reduce the repetitive content of teaching arrangement.When designing appropriate and progressive exploration and practical activities,teachers should take students’ cognition level and knowledge experience into consideration.The aim is to lead students to forming a knowledge system by combining the knowledge of primary and junior high school.After two periods of teaching practice,it has been proved that teaching cohesion strategy has a certain positive effect on students learning in biology.The results show that the students can adapt to biology learning in junior high school faster and better.This method can help students suffer from fewer difficulties in the process of adaptation.Students own higher inner motivation for biology learning and have stronger practical exploration abilities that are based on real situation during the period of learning.Finally,this paper summarizes the research and analyses the shortcomings.According to the results,researchers should make a summary.Then provide appropriate and reliable suggestions for researcher to constantly improve their teaching methods and strategies in the future teaching activities.
