Contemporary China is in a critical period when the CPC unites and leads the people of all ethnic groups across the country to build a strong socialist modernization country in an all-round way,achieve the second century goal,and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization.This requires ideological and political course teachers to always base themselves on the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents,and cultivate young talents for the comprehensive construction of a socialist modernized country.In this era,the Ministry of Education has revised the curriculum standards for middle school ethics and the rule of law.The "Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education Ethics and the Rule of Law(2022 Edition)"(hereinafter referred to as the "New Curriculum Standards")proposes to actively explore various teaching methods such as topic based,experiential,and project-based.The expression "taking...as a topic" can also be seen everywhere in teaching prompts.Topic based teaching is an important means to carry out activity oriented subject courses,cultivate students’ core competencies,and promote their comprehensive development.Implementing topic based teaching in middle school moral and rule of law courses has important theoretical and practical significance.Teachers of morality and rule of law in junior high schools should active learning and actively explore to improve the level of topic based teaching.This article is divided into four parts.The first part provides a theoretical explanation of topic based teaching and sorts out the theoretical basis of topic based teaching.The second part discusses the significance and challenges of using topic based teaching in middle school moral and legal education.In terms of theoretical significance,topic based teaching can innovate traditional teaching concepts in the context of exam oriented education,innovate traditional teaching evaluation,and enrich teaching theoretical achievements.In terms of practical significance,topic based teaching can exercise students’ comprehensive abilities,cultivate core competencies,enhance classroom effectiveness,improve teaching quality,promote the construction of activity based courses,comply with the requirements of curriculum reform,promote teachers’ professional development,and improve professional quality.At the same time,the application of topic based teaching also faces challenges from three aspects: teachers,students,and the environment.Therefore,the third part of this article explores the application conditions of topic based teaching in middle school moral and legal courses.Promoting the promotion and implementation of topic based teaching in Taoist law courses requires teachers to have a certain level of professional literacy and advanced teaching concepts,students to have a certain level of literacy and enthusiasm for participation,and environmental support and resource guarantee.The fourth part summarizes the application strategies of topic based teaching from the aspects of preclass preparation,teaching implementation,teaching evaluation,and homework assignment according to the teaching organization process,and identifies several pairs of relationships that need to be handled well in the implementation of question based teaching.The research on the application of topic based teaching in middle school moral and rule of law courses aims to improve the level of moral and rule of law teachers’ application of topic based teaching,and enhance the implementation effect of topic based teaching in moral and rule of law courses.
