In April 2022,the Ministry of Education issued the "Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)"(hereinafter referred to as the "2022 Edition"),which added new "curriculum content" standards,redefining the connotation of "what" and "how" to teach languages,giving language teaching a clearer goal and direction.The concept of learning task clusters has been introduced to clarify the organisation and presentation of the curriculum content,which is a new practice and exploration of language teaching.The theme of "Excellent Chinese Traditional Culture",one of the three main themes of the curriculum,has far-reaching implications for the cultivation of a new generation and the transmission of excellent Chinese traditional culture.As the concept of learning task groups continues to be promoted,teachers have more doubts about the implementation of learning task groups in actual teaching.Taking the theme of excellent Chinese traditional culture as an example,the thesis explores the design and implementation strategies of learning task groups in Primary 3 and tries to develop valuable teaching design cases in order to provide reference for the practical implementation of learning task groups in primary school languages.The main content is divided into four chapters.Chapter 1 provides an overview of primary school language learning task clusters.Combined with the specific requirements in the 2022 edition of the curriculum,it can be found that primary school language learning task clusters are contextual,comprehensive,practical,hierarchical and contemporary,and these characteristics also argue for the practical value of learning task clusters,while constructivist theory,pragmatic education theory and contextual cognitive theory lay the theoretical foundation for the design of primary school language learning task clusters.Chapter 2 analyses the content and presentation characteristics of the "excellent Chinese traditional culture" in the primary school textbooks of the third term.The four textbooks are rich in elements of "Excellent Chinese Traditional Culture" and are presented in blocks,making them ideal vehicles for the design of learning task groups under this theme.Chapter 3 presents examples of the design of learning task groups for the theme of "Excellent Chinese Traditional Culture".Firstly,it clarifies the general idea of designing a learning task group on the theme of "Excellent Chinese Traditional Culture",which consists of five parts: clarifying the design of the learning task group,defining the learning task group of the unit,determining the teaching requirements of the unit,formulating the tasks of the unit,reorganising the content of the teaching materials,and designing the learning activities.The second part emphasises the principles that should be followed in the design process,i.e.contextuality,consistency and systematicity.Chapter 4 explores the strategies for designing task groups on the theme of "Excellent Chinese Traditional Culture" in primary school languages.On the basis of the previous discussion and design examples,the design strategies are summarised from the perspectives of learning task design,teaching content integration,teaching context creation and teaching assessment arrangement,with a view to providing reference for relevant research and front-line teaching.
