Digital Feedback,Situation Reshaping And Relationship Bridging

With the rapid development of digital media technology,the digital generation gap between generations is gradually deepening,the inter-generational conflict is escalating,and the problems of digital survival and digital integration of the older generation are becoming more and more prominent.The family is the basic unit of society,and its internal digital generation gap is in a state of constant development.By studying the micro-presentation of digital feedback behaviors in the use of a specific medium,we will further explore the changes brought by feedback behaviors in intergenerational family interactions,and provide a realistic reference for the digital integration of the older generation.This research is based on the feedback behavior in the use of We Chat.Through in-depth interviews with 8 post-1995 college students' families,the study summarized the causes and motivations of the feedback behavior in We Chat and generalized the intergenerational differences between parents and children in We Chat access,We Chat use and We Chat literacy.What's more,this study attempted to present a more comprehensive picture of the We Chat feedback from three perspectives of type,attitude and characteristic,to further clarify We Chat feedback behavior patterns.Then,focusing on the changes on family intergenerational interactions brought by We Chat feedback behaviors and analyzing by media situation theory,we found feedback behaviors reshaped the situation of the family intergenerational communication in three aspects: "transmission and reception role","family authority" and "privacy boundary",which had a massive impact on intergenerational relations.On the one hand,the We Chat feedback behavior changed the family intergenerational interaction model and eliminated part of the digital generation gap,which helped to bridge the parent-child relationship;on the other hand,We Chat feedback did not bridge the deeper literacy generation gap,and there were always interruptions,avoidances,and failures in the feedback process,which had a negative impact on the parent-child relationship and even aggravated the opposition and estrangement between two sides.The core point of this study is: the core of We Chat feedback is the intergenerational relationship of a family,the performance of We Chat feedback in a micro family is a projection of its intergenerational relationship,and this two influence each other in this progress.Meanwhile,the ultimate direction of We Chat feedback is the cultural feedback,and purpose of both is to bridge the deep generation gap,so as to achieve the digital integration of the older generation.
