| Research purpose:As the backbone of socialist construction in the new era,teenagers’ physical and mental health is closely related to the future of the country and the nation,and is closely linked to the fate of the country.The research shows that at present,the height,weight and chest circumference of adolescents are steadily rising,and the decline trend of vital capacity and most physical fitness is suppressed.The physical health of adolescents is generally showing a good trend.However,with the development of society and the progress of science and technology,the rise of various leisure and entertainment games has occupied the time and energy of adolescents to participate in sports,leading to an increase in the proportion of obesity.In addition,due to teenagers being very sensitive and concerned about their physical changes,as well as being particularly concerned about others’ evaluations of their body shape,when others observe their body shape,they often experience a restless psychological state.This article explores the relationship between exercise participation,body mass index,and social body type anxiety,in order to provide important methods and strategies for teenagers to develop good exercise habits and reduce their social body type anxiety.Research methods:A self-designed questionnaire on adolescent sports participation,body mass index,and social body type anxiety was conducted among junior high school students in a certain district or county of Chongqing.The survey subjects were selected through stratified random sampling and a database was constructed.Use SPSS21.0 and AMOS19.0 statistical analysis software to process the established database.The specific statistical methods include descriptive statistical analysis,contingency analysis,independent sample T-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis,regression analysis,path analysis,etc.The significance level of all indicators is set asα= 0.05.Research results:(1)The frequency of sports participation is significantly influenced by adolescent gender,BMI,perceived weight,whether they are only children,family income,and parental education level,but is not related to their grade or household living conditions;The duration of sports participation is significantly influenced by adolescent gender,BMI,perceived weight,appearance satisfaction,family income,and father’s education level,but not by their grade,weight satisfaction,family living conditions,whether they are only children,and mother’s education level;The intensity of sports participation is significantly influenced by adolescent gender,grade,BMI,family living conditions,perceived weight,appearance satisfaction,and family income,but is not related to their weight satisfaction,whether they are an only child,or their father’s educational level.(2)The social body type anxiety of women was significantly higher than that of men(t=-11.664,p<.05),and the social body type anxiety of ninth grade students was significantly higher than that of eighth and seventh grades(F=18.961,P<0.01).The father’s education level was university or above,and their child’s social body type anxiety was significantly reduced(F=5.577,P<0.01).(3)Gender,appearance satisfaction,and perceived weight have a 15% impact on BMI;The frequency,intensity,and duration of exercise participation have a 12.1% impact on BMI.Social body type anxiety can have a 2% impact on BMI.(4)Sports participation is negatively correlated with social body type anxiety,sports participation is negatively correlated with body mass index,and body mass index is positively correlated with social body type anxiety.Social body type anxiety plays a partial mediating role between sports participation and body mass index(R ~2= 0.246,p<0.001).Research conclusion:(1)There are significant differences in adolescent sports participation in terms of gender,family living conditions,BMI,appearance satisfaction,only child,family income,and parental education level;There are significant differences in social body type anxiety among different genders and parents’ educational levels.(2)Teenagers’ sports participation and social body type anxiety have a significant impact on BMI.(3)Social body type anxiety has a partial mediating effect between exercise participation and body mass index. |
