| The new generation of rural primary school teachers is the key group in promoting the development of rural education,leading the inheritance and innovation of rural culture,and promoting the development of agrarian society.They are a vital force in rural society.Although there have been many studies on the new generation of rural primary school teachers,there is still a lack of discussion from the perspective of social integration.The new generation of rural primary school teachers has grown up with the development of urbanization,and they have obvious urban characteristics.On the one hand,this makes them different from the traditional rural society in terms of ideology and behavior,and they can easily be lost due to the discomfort of living there;on the other hand,they play the role of rural intellectuals and have the potential power to develop rural culture and revitalize rural society.Therefore,a study on the rural integration of the new generation of rural primary school teachers will help to propose targeted measures to enhance the rural integration of the new generation of rural primary school teachers,improve their life experience in rural society and encourage them to become deeply rooted in the rural society and devote themselves to the development of the rural society.From the perspective of social integration,guided by social integration theory and attribution theory,this study investigated the basic situation of the new generation of rural primary school teachers’ integration into rural society in T County,Hubei Province by questionnaire,and then conducted a more in-depth investigation by interview.According to the research results,it is shown that the rural integration of the new generation of rural primary school teachers is generally at the upper-middle level,but there are still some integration problems.The cultural integration dilemma is mainly manifested in the varying degrees of adaptation to folk customs and the poor acceptance of values in general;the behavioral integration dilemma is mainly manifested in the mutual exclusion between rural teachers and rural society when they participate in rural communities,and their daily life is divorced from the local environment;the psychological integration dilemma is mainly manifested in the general lack of self-worth and the low willingness to stay in the job.Guided by attribution theory,this study analyses the causes at three levels: government,society,and individuals.At the governmental level,the main causes are inadequate policy support and protection,manifested in an inadequate teacher resource allocation system and ineffective teacher training policies;at the social level,the main causes are an unsatisfactory social-ecological environment,manifested in the decline of rural culture under an urbancentered orientation and the neglect of rural teachers in the face of public opinion;at the individual level,the main causes are the lack of internal motivation of rural teachers,manifested in weak The main reasons at the individual level are the lack of internal motivation of rural teachers,which manifests itself in their weak local emotions and dysfunctional role perceptions.Finally,this research puts forward effective strategies to promote the new generation of rural primary school teachers to integrate into rural society from three aspects: government,society,and individuals: Policy regulation consists of optimizing the structure of the teaching force by innovating the allocation mechanism of rural teachers and improving teacher training policies to make them more accurate;social leadership consists of improving the cultural level of rural areas to alleviate the gap between urban and rural areas and reshaping the social status of rural teachers to enhance their professional appeal;individual empowerment consists of awakening local cultural emotions and strengthening the beliefs and shaping public role perceptions to assume local responsibilities. |
